I've just finished submitting these banners to Go2Mobi, but forgot to translate the first few so will be activating the campaign tomorrow I suppose.

These will be direct linked here (I guess?)

CONCERNS:
  1. Are my banners garbage? Am I getting the wrong end of the stick as far as angles go? I followed the 'create 21 new angles' thread. I do a lot of photoshop work, creating ugly banners is hard.
  2. What links should I be looking at to know exactly where clickers will be sent? Will they go straight through to the above link (which is where I'm taken when clicking the eye icon by the offer at F5)? Or would it be the link attached to the testing instructions?
  3. How quickly do offers come and go? I'm a little concerned the offer is already old and my data is outdated. I got an email from F5 saying '#offer# has been paused and traffic will be rerouted' but I'm unsure as to whether or not it's related to my offer I'm set up for or if it's a general email that gets sent around but the dynamic #email# part just didn't get filled in?
  4. Is it common that even after being accepted for an offer it doesn't show up on my F5 dashboard? I asked F5, they said it should be viewable but if not here's my unique link (http://f5mtrack.com/?a=124633&c=108129&s1=) which appears to be a totally different offer (and the same link I can see under testing instructions, perhaps this is caused by the rerouting of the offer?)
  5. Will banner 5 cause me trouble? (translated: Are your clothes old and shit? Transform with our €500 voucher!)

If anyone has input I'd love to hear it, in any case I'll be going ahead with funding my Go2Mobi account and launching tomorrow! The current plan is to update this thread every monday at least.

ALSO! I'm also wondering if there's any profiting affiliates that are up for going over workflow! I have a crazy diverse skillset to offer in exchange, from music production to video graphics to productivity solutions and wider marketing technique

french translation is horrible, I mean in english it would be something like that :

are your clothes are old and poop ?
Transform with our $500 Bon

but as most ads.

I can help for a few of your translation. :-)

Also your list of Angles is a List of Headlines.

Angles would be :
#1 Generic - New Clothes
#2 Emotional insecurity

Headlines :
#1.a "Win a whole new wardrobe"
#1.b "Want €500 for new clothes?"
etc..

#2.a "Are you ugly? Win €500 clothing voucher"
#2.b "Finally get noticed! Win €500 voucher for your clothes store of choice"
etc..

At least, this is the way I see it.
Good Luck !

CONCERNS:
1- to be honest, I think they are not good. You will not have any data you can work with those banners. Wrong translation, standart images.
2- you need a TRACKER between your ads and offer.
3- offers pause, die, caps, dont like you, like other better, you need to be prepare to that. Most of the time you will found a good replacement.
4- geo redirect, you are trying to look at a Belgium offer from a UK ip, research tools that help you look at offers from different IP, UA etc..
5- Dont think so, cause nobody will understand it !

Cheers.

Nice work! You've clearly prepared well and you're going into this with most of your ducks in a row.

1) The angles are fine. You've phrased them in a headline format, but it's clear they're actually seperate angles. I do the same thing a lot of the time.

2) Just to correct a misunderstanding that a lot of people have: if you're following the Mobile Cookbook Appetiser, you do NOT need a tracker. The Appetiser is specifically written to be as simple as possible, and that means that we use the traffic source's tracking (which for Go2Mobi is pretty extensive).

Your visitors will be sent to the link that you see when you click on the eye in F5, but they'll be sent to that via a couple of redirects that help the network track visitors and what they do. You should use the tracking link from F5 in your campaign, NOT the eye link. If you follow that tracking link and you're in the correct geo for the offer (you can use web proxies to fake that) you should see the same site.

3) No, AFAIK that's a generic email. I get them too If in doubt check with your affiliate manager.

4) Hmm, that's not very usual. I'd double-check - remember to use a proxy so that you show up as being in the right geo. And ask your AM to fire a test conversion as well just to make sure the offer's still responding.

5) Yeah, my French is rusty but I don't think that's right I'd listen to the French-speakers in this chat.

You've got one really big problem here: you're targeting English banners at a geo that doesn't speak English as a primary language. Belgium is split between Flemish speakers (a dialect of Dutch, but get someone who speaks Belgian dutch to translate if you possibly can) and French speakers.

I'd recommend testing Flemish and French banners - don't test English banners, particularly not colloquial English. My guess is that French will convert best, as it's spoken by most of the Belgian populace, but Flemish banners may have the home field advantage.

There are a variety of good translation services out there - the default one used by most affiliates is One Hour Translation. It's not always the best but it'll do. DO NOT use Google Translate!

Good luck, and looking forward to seeing your initial results!

Ahha, separating angles and headline, nice

1 - Interesting, I know the translations are garbage, but what do you mean by standard images? What would you change about the images?
2 - Working off the mobile appetiser course I'm going to work up to using my own tracker, for now I want to get experience with the essentials.
3 - Good to know, thanks
4 - This! Didn't think of this, makes a lot of sense
5 - As long as swearing won't jeopardise my accounts or anything along those lines that's all good

1 - yeah, I came up with them working through the '21 new angles' post, might've been clearer if I numbered them in line with the numbering on that guide

2 - Good to know the distinction between URL's, looking forward to when I've internalised a lot more of these little details. Definitely didn't think of it redirecting geo-specifically.

3 - Cool, checked but haven't heard back, will email them again.

4 - Hmm, I'll ask if they can look into it and find out why it hasn't shown up. I seem to be all accepted for it as clicking on the offer brings up the menu with rules, creatives, etc - rather than the apply menu. It would be good to have it on my dashboard so I'm not searching for it every time. It appears to be double listed on their database as well which hopefully won't complicate things, but if that menu is any indicator I seem to be accepted for both.

5 - The english banners are yet to be translated, wasn't intending to send them out without translating them first. I expect flemish will be substantially different from dutch if swiss german/swiss french is anything to go by. I'll definitely test some flemish if I get conversions on this initial run. I've got One Hour Translation bookmarked, good to see it recommended. I used Google Translate on these as I thought the short sentences would be simple enough for me to get away with, and any weird grammar might stick out and help banner blindness.

Thanks guys, I really value your input!
