No, you don't need to have a website to join a network. It helps if you have one but its not necessary.
There are a lot of superaffiliates that do mediabuys on facebook, google, CPC/CPM platforms or RTB networks and you don't need to have a site for that.

If you want to join our network just go to www.addiliate.com and sign up as Publisher. Make sure to mention STM somewhere so our compliance team can approve you straight away.

I think that for someone just starting, Sweepstakes is a good vertical.

Offers that only require a simple email submit and are appealing to mass amount of people. offers like "win an iPhone", "Win an Amazon gidt card", "Win 200 EUR voucher to buy grocery"...

Such offers are available in many countries and as I said - appeal to many people so you are not that restricted in terms of audience that can convert.

Welcome to the forum

- First of all, as Christoph already told you, there is no need to have a website. Tell the networks you want to join, that you are buying traffic as an independent affiliate and they will understand.

- Second, games niche is certainly not the best for newbies, especially on facebook, not sure where you read it, but its nonsense. Sweeps, PINs, dating in cheap GEOS ... thats a better idea. If you want to try games, go ahead of course, just wanted to note its not the easiest one.

- Third, if you decide to make a website about yourself, make sure it looks decent, otherwise it will do you more bad than good and no, domain name doesnt play a role.

I would recomend to browse the forum first, read the threads aimed at newbies and educate yourself - from what I can tell, you sound like you have pretty much zero experience with AM, so studdy first.

Good luck.
