What is raw traffic?

Saw someone post this: "Play with Frequency Capping. Sometimes RAW traffic works better than capped traffic"

What does raw traffic mean?

Raw just means not setting a frequency cap at all. This means you will get multiple impressions from some of the same visitors, and be charged for all impressions.

YMMV, but I find that raw traffic almost always converts worse than a frequency of 1/24, say. I normally only open a campaign to raw traffic when the campaign is profitable with a high ROI, so that even with the lower conversion rate, the overall profits may still increase due to the additional traffic volume.

Ultimately it’s another thing you’ll just have to test to see how well it will/won’t work for your particular case.

What Amy told you

Outside of the paid traffic world, RAW traffic is a term used to define ALL traffic that for example a counter records. So not uniques, not unique IPs, not humans only ... all traffic that gets to you is RAW HITS, if you analyze it deeply, you might find out that out of 100 hits to your page, for example only 30 are human hits from unique IPs. This is something to watch out for when you are buying a site for example, the sellers love to show the RAW traffic numbers, but what you want to see is uniques or unique IPs.
