Get my foot into the FB door with a few thousand (7)

hello stackers!

On top of what I'm already doing, I want to master a huge traffic source and have chosen FB. am wondering which vertical would you recommend to start with, as there are so many options?

considering the fact the higher the payout, the more budget i need, would it be wise to start with app installs on FB so that i can learn how the game works by spending a budget I'm comfortable with (a few thousands) without breaking the bank? if not, what would you recommend?

First question is if app install on FB is a wise choice; second question is once we decide on that, which niche should I go for? The quick answer is that you want to start on Facebook with clean and low payout offers. Why? Because you don't want to get banned and you want to be able to collect enough data to make statistically sound decisions. The latter one will be difficult if you test high payout offers with a limited budget.

Game installs meet these criteria and are generally considered a newbie-friendly entry point. There are tons of tutorials / follow-alongs about gaming here on STM, just use the search function. If you like it, then you'll probably find game installs interesting. Otherwise, it might be wise to look for another niche with similar characteristics.

I've been reading posts in this section all day and yes I've decided to do app installs on FB.

Next question is how to register new accounts in another country to manually spy ads(please note it's purely for spying ads, nothing to do with opening new accounts for cloaking etc.)? I found Attila's post here http://stmforum.com/forum/showthread...l=1#post246716 but I'd like to know more details. That is, is it ok if I simply use vpn to create a new account in a new geo? or do I have to set up a remote server in that new geo? or would it be too labor-intensive and i'd be better off subscribing to a spy tool? by labor-intensive, I mean multiple accounts for gender, age group etc and I have to go through dozens of accounts regularly to get an idea.

Creating multiple accounts for spying - let alone any purpose - is an annoying logistical and time-consuming challenge, even more so if you have no experience.

This is not worth the time - use a spy tool, otherwise you will likely a) achieve less given the time/money spent and b) probably end up shooting yourself in the foot on the advertising side (e.g. ads account gets banned because you get linked to a number of fake accounts and suspicious log ins).

Zeno is right. Given that you are just starting out on FB, setting up accounts in other geos for spying purposes is definitely not what you should be focusing on. Get a spy tool & start pumping out camps instead!

so yeah I've decided to do app installs and will start a follow-along and show you guys every steps along the way, all my puzzles and confusions, all the roadblocks. hopefully I could get some guidance from more experienced marketers here

before opening a new follow-along thread, my first question is about opening a new account. According to Zeno's guide, I need to go to https://business.facebook.com/ to open a new business account and then add a personal account to it.
1) when starting out, can i just use a personal account first without setting up the business account? Or do i have to do it right now so that things will be on the right track right from the beginning?
2) I'm not going to do anything non-compliant but still don't want to use my personal account cos it's still possible that i get banned due to lack of knowledge or whatever. Can i just make up a person's profile or should i use a family member's details? would FB require me to show them credit card details with the name on the card? if they do then i guess i have to use one of my family member's details as a real person; if they don't, I can just set up a new account as John Smith, can't I? (cos the name on the credit card doesnt play a role in making payments and I can use my own credit card to pay FB advertising even though i call myself "John smith" in my advertising account) can anyone please confirm if this is a good approach?
