Voluum not worth using solely for mobile pops?
If you're mainly running mobile pops/redirect traffic, is Voluum the right choice? It's the most popular tracker which was why I started with it, but now questioning whether it's the right choice. You can rack up an insane amount of clicks quite fast with pops traffic, then the overage charges will eat you up. Seen some people switching over to Thrive because of this.
What do you guys use?

It is true that with pops/redirects its cheaper to use a self hosted tracker. Even with banner traffic from cheap but huge GEOS, the
Voluum costs can shoot up pretty fast. I dont want to recomend a particular tracker to you as each of them is different in some way, but thrive seems to be a popular choice these days for sure.

You may want to consider FunnelFlux instead as many say it is better (see here) and faster (see here) than Thrive.
Also, a search for FunnelFlux in STM will show you what people think about it.

Would Voluum be faster if you're working in multiple GEO's since it redirects your clicks to the closest data center?
We have 9 data centers at this time located in Virginia, Oregon, California, Dublin, Frankfurt, Sydney, Tokyo, São Paulo, and Singapore. Your clicks get redirected to the nearest data center resulting in the fastest redirects of all tracking platforms.

Exactly, funnelflux seems to be a vital alternative to
Thrive too and more and more people start to use it.

Is FunnelFlux optimized for mobile? Meaning does it have all the necessary mobile features that Voluum/Thrive has? i.e. handset device tracking, able to group different stuff in reports like carrier/device model/browser/etc.
How many clicks per day can it handle being self hosted? Thrive suggests switching to their cloud managed service when you exceed 200k clicks a day.

Yes it does have all these features built in, I'm using it for mobile DSPs.
As for the how many clicks a day it depends on what size your VPS is, actually it's not handling the clicks which will cause issues first (contrary to popular believes), it's handling the reporting... but Vitavee is fixing all the issues quite rapidly these last weeks.
I would bet you can go above 200K clicks per day not issue with FF. I was at 100K 3 days ago on an 8GB VPS and there was still plenty of ressources available on my server (only at 35% CPU resources used so I could have probably run this volume on an 4GB VPS).
Cheers,

As for Voluum redirects being fasts... do you see them fast on your end ?
Either I've always been really unlucky, or they aren't fast at all, no matter how many geo-localized servers they run.
But true enough if you want to run anywhere with FF you'll need 2 or preferably 3 VPSs (but you should get your 2nd and 3rd licences at discount price if you ask nicely).

many of our affiliates are using Voluum and are happy with it.
i think that the cost of mobile pop will be high at any tracking provider.
but the tip of split testing can work on all aspects of affiliate / online marketing.
check also a different tracking provider and see if you can reduce your click cost.
would love to get a feedback if you find a better solution than Voluum.
