by the way. this isn't just on adsense, or their partners. this is the entire internet they are controlling. if google sees something on your site that they don't like they will block all users from going there. you can appeal if you like.....

My wife was talking about this not long ago. What about for games and such I mean where else are you doing to direct them to. Maybe instead of download could do "install now"

^^ I'm sure Google will approve a "Download from Google Play" button... however, a "Get from the Apple App Store" might result in your page getting flagged.

Google is Internet police.
This is how most people start to see them anyway. Just a matter of time till they get less visitors and people will move to duckduckgo and bing.

i doubt it is really just a "matter of time". google can do whatever they like because no other comes close.

This is nothing new, first blow came on March 31st, 2014.
You can still use stupid cta's like learn more. Or if all else fails something close resembling 'tits' still gets high CTR.

Its scary and its the truth. I wish that one day they take it too far and its gonna come back at them, leaving a nasty bite on their greedy ass.

Did you get LPs flagged even when you blocked the googlebot with robots.txt ? I suspect their safebrowsingbot just crawls wherever he feels like, even if our robots.txt tells google to move on...

That's widely known, or at least suspected, so you have to assume it is so.
The robots file is mainly to prevent Google
indexing your stuff, not to crawl it and see if there is illegal or dangerous content, or -- even worse -- a download button on your lander!

The performance of the "download now" buttons was going down anyways. Its been used over and over again and users don't buy it anymore so Google prohibiting it now doesn't change that much.
Like zeno said reverse engineer it and look for new angles. This rule might actually be a good thing for affiliates and affiliate marketing in general.

Good point, but I still agree that the internet police thing sucks.
