Hey Everyone,
I've been running a focused campaign, but am only getting a handful of impressions each hour. I thought my keywords were great because they're very targeted, affordable and focus on my unique angles.
However, if I widen the focus of my keywords, then they become way too expensive for my campaign to be profitable.
It's a little baffling.
I would appreciate any advice as to how to increase impressions without simply paying lots of money for the common keywords.
Surely, there's something I'm not doing correctly...
Thank you!
Which traffic source are you running at?
Amy
I'm using Google Adwords, Call-Only campaign.
Are you profitable with the targeted keywords?
If you aren't able to get profitable with the most-targeted keywords, then the less-targeted ones will probably not be profitable either.
If you ARE in profit with the targeted keywords, try to collect more that are just as targeted - try more keyword scrapers/services. I've used pretty much all of them, and liked SECockpit the best. It IS a bit pricey though, but there are discount coupons you can probably find with a google search.
You can try to collect long-tail keywords that stem from your current targeted keywords. Also see if you can find synonyms for your current keywords. Think: What types of people would want/need my product, and what keywords would they be typing in to find a solution to their problem? This may help you come up with more seed keywords.
Also - are you running just on the search network or the content network also (I think it's called the "display network" now)? You may want to give the content network a try if you want more traffic.
And of course, you could try to make the less-targeted keywords profitable by testing more ads, playing with bids etc.
I have no idea how much experience you have with adwords - I apologize if what I'm suggesting is too basic. I also don't have experience with pay-per-call (is this what you were referring to when you said "Call-only"? If so, you could also try posting in the pay per call section of the forum). As well, without knowing what your niche/product is, it would be difficult to give more specific advice. Good luck!
