I am new in media buying and started with few offers of mobile subscription in India. I started using popcash, JuicyAds redirect, adcash pops but didn't get much Roi.
I wanted to know how I can plan mobile subscription type offers. I have adult and mainstream offers both. .
Thanks in advance for help!!
Pop traffic is a decent source for this type of offers. The key is to find a good offer (as always).
Why have you chosen India? Were these offers recommended to you by your AMs? They said these are strong offers in general or that you asked for offers in India and then they recommended them?
Are you running them by direct linking or are you using a bridge page?
The sources you mentioned are good sources.
You can also consider sources such as Exoclick and Traffic Junky.
I belongs to India and it's easy to get direct offers so I started with India. I am willing to try other geos as well but not sure which will convert well.
I am running these offers at lower bids of $0.80 and with direct link. After following STM I think bridge pages should work better but I am looking for proper strategy to start these kind of offers.
For tracking I am using has offers as of now which give me some click difference also. Will volume reduce this difference ?

Hey Protechminds!
How’s it going?
According to what you’ve mentioned, and given these traffic sources, I understand you’re buying popunders (in the case of mobile traffic) and redirects. However, I recommend you use banners instead, because their biggest advantage over popunders and redirects is the leverage they give you when optimizing your campaign. In fact, with this option, you can test different banners in your campaigns and see which ones convert better or have a higher CTR, something you cannot do with popunders or redirects.
You can’t forget that your results also vary according to whether you’re buying by CPM or CPC, because the price you have to pay for each of these is completely different. In fact, CPC will be more expensive since you’re gonna pay whenever the user decides to click, so he’ll automatically see the offer. On the other hand, with CPM, you’ll pay even if the user doesn’t see the offer since you’ll pay every time he sees your banner even without actually clicking. Nonetheless, because there’s always the possibility the user won’t click, CPM ends up costing less than CPC.
You can think about the word “risk”: CPC is less risky, so it’ll be more expensive; CPM is riskier, so it’ll be cheaper.
Regarding the traffic you get: 3G traffic (from carriers) is always preferable if compared to Wifi. This is so due to the billing process of each of these choices: a) with 3G, the mobile user is automatically charged by the carrier when clicking on “subscribe”; b) with Wifi, after clicking on “accept”, the user needs to insert his data (such as a phone number) so that the carrier can be detected and only then will he be charged. This step that makes the user insert his data is like a barrier to the conversion and therefore the conversion ratio and performance in 3G will be much better than in Wifi.
Between those two verticals you’ve mentioned, I recommend you use adult. However, it always depends on the kind of offers you have. The source I suggest you try for this specific vertical is Exoclick, because it provides tons of volumes and detailed data to help you both target and optimize your campaigns.
I suggest you try the following GEOs with the 300x100 banner spot:
- South Africa + MTN + Android
- Uruguay + Movistar + Android
- Peru + Movistar + Android
Feel free to share your results here! If you need any more tips or advice, send me a PM.
Cheers!
The results depend on the campaign for sure, pops works nice on certain campaigns. Also as for 3G traffic, it is always more expensive then just mobile 3G+wifi. Maybe you are bidding low, maybe you should bid higher on certain targets and receive other better traffic than you do have.
And try to talk with your AMs on the networks' side, they can tell you how to make your campaigns work and etc.
Good luck in your risky journey!
