Updates:
Update #01: 01-26-2016 First green numbers on Day 7!
Update #02: 02-03-2016 Hit $XXX/day on Day 11!!
Hi guys,
first of all thanks for the amazing knowledge and advice that is spread in this forum. Both the super friendly onboarding guides and the highly advanced discussions and tactics are on a absolutly amazing level.
I worked in AM for the past year with mostly doing mobile CPI Offers and as the highest peak so far hitting almost 1k days in late summer; I am and was always doing mobile.
Now, after a year of passive participation in this forum I’m super pumped to take the next step:
One of my best buddies joined me in the beginning of January after quitting consulting and we’ve been hammering out 80+ hrs weeks since then and bringing my former unstructured AM game to whole new level.
We’re based in Berlin, basically breath AM from dusk till dawn, and are absolutely committed to succeeding in Affiliate Marketing - I hope we have a lot of reasons to go absolutely crazy in July
We committed to 6 months full-time, no matter what - and will only evaluate how to go on end of June!
Teamwise we also have
.Enough of the talking, here some images and numbers:
01/19/2016: Sorry I lied to you - we actually didn’t get to setting up the campaign yet so no numbers, but:
My buddy researched promising landing pages all day, mostly on AdPlexity and some manual spying; I was dealing with server+CDN issues all day and finally changed and went with Amazon S3+Cloudfront. Thank you caurmen for this guide!
At the end of the day we had 5 different themed landing pages + Server&CDN Setup
01/20/2016: right after midnight, we launched our first Sweepstakes campaign in Germany; 5 LPs + 1 Offer on Android
Cost: $165.26
Revenue: $52.20
Profit: -$112.76
01/21/2016:
Cost: $247.26
Revenue: $115.44
Profit: -$131.82
We started with 4 traffic sources at once on day 1, which was pretty stupid, I guess. Essentially we kept the top two running and stopped the other ones. We now decided to have a “go-to” traffic source where we always start.
5 Landing Pages:
During day 2 we improved the landing pages and came up with new angles for iTunes & WhatsApp Lander, which immediately paid off. Negative profit is getting less and less and 1 Traffic Source was basically breaking even 2 days.
01/22/2016:
Cost: $155.07
Revenue: $92.33
Profit: -$62.74
01/23/2016:
Cost: $165.18
Revenue: $135.88
Profit:-$29.30
On day 3 we finally got new offers approved and started split testing them. We cut off one of the offers quite quick and learned a lesson: After retesting the offer with a new lander it was converting well, so we took it back on the original lander and it was converting as well. We aren’t really sure about the routine in what order to test offers and landers, but we’ll definitely have to keep them longer in the rotation.
01/24/2016:
Cost: $94.99
Revenue: $71.88
Profit: -$23.11
01/25/2016:
Cost: $110.34
Revenue: $93.28
Profit: -$16.06
Next Goal: Green numbers!
Learnings from the first week:
Hope you guys will boom, exited to see results coming in! What countries will you focus on?
Thanks for the reply cbrughmans
We decided to first get all the basics down in Tier1 countries - next ones will probably be UK and AU - and then move to less saturated GEOs - Kenya, Philippines, Indonesia are currently on the list.
Herzlichen Gluckwunsch!
Good to see such drive guys. You going to be in Berlin this summer?
Thank you Eoin! Hopefully we're still in the AM game then
But yeah, we are planning to attend the conference as well and meet some good people
You've got to try to run your sweeps on the google display network, facebook or via good old email marketing. Those are channels that perform very well for sweepstakes.
Since you are a new affiliate - with a lot of determination, motivation an dedication it seems - i would suggest to test out more verticals than just sweeps (which is in all fairness a quite saturated vertical).
Some offers I'd recommend that are doing very well at the moment are, amongst others:
- Job Search_Android US: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...=46343493&dph= Pay out: 1,50$ CPI
- Iphone6 subscription_CA FR US UK: http://vipmemberships.info/web/page/nike-en1/signup Pay out: 25$ CPL
- Proteste_Portugal & Brazil: https://vantagens.deco.proteste.pt/n...&scp=NA#/login Pay out Portugal: 19,50 euro CPL and Pay out Brazil: 6,8 euro CPL
Glückwunsch und viel Erfolg!
It's great to see new additions to AM in Berlin. We'd be organizing a meet up for STMers and other affiliates based in Berlin soon. Drop me a message if you're interested!
Just a quick note:
Boom! Positive
01/26/2016:
Cost: $95.15
Revenue: $98.67
Profit: $3.52
Nice work! keep it up, and on too 100 a day!
@datdim: Thanks man!
@Glispa: I'll shoot you a message. We're definitely up for a meetup. I've been working with you the last year already
@Christoph: Thanks for the tips. We'll try to focus on low-payout offers for now to not stress our bankroll too much, but will get back to those kind of offers when we're ready!!
Big weekly update is coming in a bit.
Great work!
Hi guys,
first of all:
the weekend was absolutely crazy and we hit $100 on Saturday for the first time!
What we did:
after starting out a little messy at the beginning of last week and then learning how a clean and structured testing routine helps a lot to not burn too much money without solid learnings, we decided to also develop a strategy how we would scale to more traffic sources.
01/27/2016:
Cost: $49.14
Revenue: $61.11
Profit: $11.97
01/28/2016:
Cost: $37.08
Revenue: $57.49
Profit: $20.41
With a very clear plan how to test and how to scale we took one step back and first identified our best converting LP. Then we let the traffic flow.
01/29/2016:
Cost: $159.02
Revenue: $132.38
Profit: $ -26.64
Still room for improvement. After crunching some numbers and performing some adjustments, things got better (well… actually A LOT BETTER!!!)
01/30/2016:
Cost: $186.38
Revenue: $296.31
Profit: $109.93
BAAMMM! Didn’t expect out optimizations to pay off that fast but on saturday we broke the XXX/day wall
!
01/31/2016:
Cost: $241.01
Revenue: $368.85
Profit: $127.84
02/01/2016:
Cost: $231.28
Revenue: $253.70
Profit: $22.42
Monday numbers dropped quite a lot. Maybe this is normal after the weekend... we’ll have an eye on it - any thoughts?
02/02/2016:
Cost: $236.37
Revenue: $324.85
Profit:$88.48
Tuesday actually recovered pretty well. Curious to see the development throughout the rest of the week!
Next Steps:
Looking good, Mr Boom! Looking forward to your suggestions for our Berlin meetup!
Also, a suggestion that might be helpful for your tests, don't shy away from less popular geos like MENA. Based on the feedback of our newer affiliates, some of them have seen more success testing offers in geos that are less popular than the more popular ones such as tier 1 countries and India.
