Got about 400k cell phones form coreg, how to monitize?
How would I go about doing sms advertising but not shelling out 5k to do so? Was thinking of sending wap offers but 5k would be alot to recover for sms spamer... I mean advertising.
the 50k question.....I have yet to hear a solid answer on this....one that's semi legit.....
If I were in your position, I'd start with 10% of the list -
40k is a good number - would cost you about $400 to send out some high-quality advertising ;-).
Send 1/2 to one offer, 1/2 to another...test...
You get the idea.
If they don't cover text costs, try again.
If they do, go make some money.
Make sure you follow regulations / give them an option to stop the messages.
Also, see if you can use a full # rather than a short code.
It's cheaper, and it also has better deliverability, supposedly,
since short codes get blocked by a lot of carriers.
Also - think of cha-cha's model. Their advertisers get you signed up for their short code, NOT a WAP offer.
That's because people are less likely to go from their text messages to the internet.
So see if you can find some advertisers that want people to text in short codes.
If you don't know what I'm talking about, take out your mobile phone right now and
text a question to 242242 (chacha).
It's free (minus text message cost).
You'll see how they do it.
You could probably pay some guy in the Philippines $300 to text everyone through one of those free SMS websites.
