Best Cheap VPS hosting for Funnel Flux
Hi,
First post on STM. Quick question.
What would be the best cheap managed vps hosting for funnel flux. I've heard funnel flux handles high amounts of traffic very well and because of that expensive hosting is not necessary.
Is this true?
I bought the starter pack from Beyond Hosting earlier this evening only to find out that Funnel Flux is not compatible with the starter pack.
What is my best move here? Find a cheaper VPS hosting (I need managed hosting) - presumably because Funnel Flux can handle tracking high amounts of traffic on cheaper hosting?
Or do I just upgrade my Beyond hosting to the VPS2048 package at 65$ per month.
Thanks in advance for any input.

I just set it up on digital ocean with a $10 ubuntu server. I have a windows server on vultr but prefer digital ocean for linux servers.

Much as I like 'em - and I do - Digital Ocean doesn't offer a managed option, sadly.
Although you could always get a server with them and then a server management contract with either a freelancer or a company specialised in that.

Use Linode + the STM StackScript >> specifically prepared for a FunnelFlux install.

Hosting images on a CDN and using a cache feature - still getting wiped out by the competition- even though I tested competition landers and it takes them to load about the same amount of time in the same GEOs I run my campaigns - but I guess because of the volume their CAKE affiliate links get cached somehow (I just know they run the same offers from the same networks by running and debugging their landers), so cant think of a solution except optimizing the load speed of my landers.
Here are the stats from webpagetoo :
- tracker link
https://www.dropbox.com/s/vyv0l2jz5d...%20PM.png?dl=0
- lander URL
https://www.dropbox.com/s/j9miqcglnp...%20PM.png?dl=0
Using a paid CloudFlare option and a CDN for images
Any advise is highly appreciated.
Thanks

What would you suggest using to get more or less accurate data in a specific geo ?
Just got a paid pingdom subscription and using RUM feature, though can only test an average and by browser / device load speed of a lander but not the whole chain of redirects starting with a tracker link . You think there are any tools available to test the average speed of all page requests starting with a tracking link and ending with a redirect to the offer page ?

@toneko - if there is a tool that can do that on real user data, I don't know of it. A quick Google suggests there are one or two tools doing approximately similar things at enterprise level, but that's it.
NewRelic can certainly visualise funnels, but I'm not familiar enough with it to know if it can do that with loading speed data.
It's not an incredibly hard problem - you could probably get something custom-built, provided you're able to control the code your tracker sends. FunnelFlux's PHP/JS fragments would be perfect for the task, I think.

thanks caurmen ! I also got a stackscript a few days ago and got approved on linode.com and thanks for the tool development advise ! speaking of the auto- optimization script for FF on linode : do you think that script would slow down the redirect speed since it will be optimizing the amount of resources used depending on how much traffic is there ? Is it constantly optimizing or just analyses some recent data every once in a while ? what if there is a huge spike like for example I have been getting a few K visitors per day for a month and then a few mil visitors in a few hours. Also would it help optimize linode locations and pick the closest to the visitors IP ?
would you suggest using linode.com to host landers ? is there some sort of a script available for load balancer/servers optimization ?
Sorry for asking so many questions lol i have just been recently blowing tons of cash looking for a way to optimize my CVRs and CTRs on designers, copy writers, coders as I really get wiped out by competition and really think that I should invest more in tech rather than pretty images on the pages lol
any advise would be highly appreciated

Hey guys. Since many people recommend Vultr including the Funnelflux guys I've decided to give it a go.
If I wanted to also host my landers with them, which OS/setup would you recommend me to get? Static Landers get maybe .5-1.5M impressions so it should be fast. I like it because it's got locations where others don't like Australia and other specific European countries.

Nice ! Are you using one geo location for all geo campaigns ? I run quite a bit in the US as well in AU NZ and Europe
