Top 50,000 Facebook Pages (Jan 2016) For Better Ad Targeting

Please don't share outside of STM, this is internal data from the company I work for. This may come in useful for some of you guys when targeting on Facebook, or just for curiosity.

Data dump in this excel file - 2MB (limited release - no longer available)

We collected this data so we could like the top Facebook pages (for brands) in each country to increase our ad spying software's reach. If enough interest, we could work on adding categories, keywords and domains to this list.

Some interesting things to note:

17 billion likes on the top 50k pages
3k pages with 1m or more likes
Coca-cola has 81 pages for various countries (totaling 200m fans)

If enough interest in Facebook data mining I may be able to release some more excels.

Something like, top 1,000 ads from Jan 2013, or top 100 from country XX.

This data will be added to the OAS social suite in the future (in some form or another) when we make the data more usable. For now the focus is on maximum Facebook Ad Reach + Instagram Ad Coverage.

SocialBakers.com has country level data as well. Do you have any idea on the Facebook page networks where we could leverage these numbers?

US, DE, FR, BE. Surprised no requests for AU/GB. I'll see what I can share.

Unfortunately I was told I'm not allowed to release the top ad data publicly at the moment - I'll keep pestering the decision maker, hopefully at some point in the future.

In the meantime I might be able to share some CPC excels. A drill down of Facebook click prices 2014 vs 2015 vs 2016. Let me know if that's of any interest, perhaps to find unexplored GEOs with a lot of cheap traffic. We all know how unreliable the click price data on Facebook can be, but it's a start.
