I am using the token zone_id on exoclick, works fine, but I am getting a bunch of 6-7 digit numbers like: 731729
I thought "zone_id" meant the specific placement of my ad, like "NTV-A" oder "Footer Square", etc.
Are those numbers representing any specific placements? (i.e. 731729 = NTV-B)
If not, which token would be the right one to track the ad placements?
Thanks!
Yes they represent specific placements.
For example when you use "premium sites", you'll notice on the left hand column the "Zone ID" for a specific placement.
So for example "Pornhub Footer" is 1538652, "Pornhub NTV A" is 1538648 etc.
When you signup for exoclick as a publisher, you have to generate code to place on your site and they require to generate a unique code for every placement. In reality, webmasters dont always do this, so different zones may still have the same code which equals to the same zone ID. Unfortunatelly, you cannot block sources by zone ID as far as I know. So the only use of the zone ID is to search for specific zones when running RON and targeting those in separate campaigns. However, you can only do this in case the zone is listed in their premium marketplace.
How do you set up tracking properly? Under my variables, it shows {zone_id}, {campaign_id}, etc... From my understanding, I need to place a clickid for everthing to work.. I've loaded the template on
Any idea what I might've done wrong? Or mmissing?
