LinkedIn Advertising has arrived

I suppose it was only a matter of time until this happened after they sold, but I got this in my inbox this morning.

Sounds like a good chance to be among the first advertising on there, but there are a couple of points to bear in mind:

From their T&Cs there are the usual restrictions on ads plus...
Affiliate Advertising: No affiliate advertising through LinkedIn Ads
Affiliate ads and related programs are not allowed to advertise using LinkedIn Ads

Also, the minimum CPC is $2

If I can get ads approved for one of my sites I will use up the $50 voucher and provide some feedback. The targeting seems to be pretty slick, geo, company type, job function, groups a member of on LinkedIn, gender and age.

I just went through the process of creating a test ad just to see what the bid price is. The suggested bid for a fairly generic demo was $3.23 and even razor targeting doesn't bring that price down.

I feel this might be a bit too rich for me...

Cheers

Rob

great.

I looked at LinkedIn Ads a while back but was put off by the expensive CPC.

but

If you do marketing to b2b sector -> this ine one awesome resource. Ever wanted to target CEO's of companies with 1000+ employees in a country of choice? LinkedIn is your resource!

Simple fix. Do all your affiliate stuff on the backend. Look like a real business and promote whitepapers if that's what everyone does. Just do it better than all the clueless businesses
