Any recommended Adwords guides?

Hmm, a bit weird how there isn't much guides, case studies etc on Google Adwords here on STM.

Can you recommend me where to start as a beginner?

If you are just getting started, it is best to go straight to the horse's mouth

Google's own basic training is some of the best out there for beginners

Yup, I've read his guide many years ago and found it pretty good. It was called something like "definitive guide to google adwords" - or something like that.

I really liked this one:

Google's training is actually really good for the basics and using the system but obviously they aren't going to show you any tricks - I use their guide to bring employees up to speed all the time.

+1 for Perry Marshall. Still review it from time to time on my kindle.

Anything by Brad Geddes.

Someone posted a book from Amazon in an eariler post; I'd read that first.

In addition, Reddit has a very active PPC section that I find very useful. https://www.reddit.com/r/PPC

I would suggest you to go through(subscribe) the videos of their official YouTube channel.

https://www.youtube.com/user/learnwithgoogle/

The content they release is gold and offers best practices.
All the new updates are explained in detail in their official blog - adwords.blogspot.com

The best way to learn is to jump in with a real account and start creating the campaigns. Try spending small amount and keep reviewing the data. If you have any questions, post them here or in their official community - https://plus.google.com/communities/...85206378551362. You can even call their support and ask any random query you got! they'll help - https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/1385067

- Best intro Adwords book: Ultimate Guide to Google Adwords, by Perry Marshall
- Also very good: Advanced Google Adwords, by Brad Geddes

Also great stuff by Amit Mehta and John Crestani (recommend his intro ebook "Adwords Buddy").

And check out PPC Hero and WordStream.

Heres the link to my old adwords guide. I still do adwords the same way, but have been experimenting with custom audiences on it a bit too now. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bwy...p=docslist_api
