Is Phone Verification a Must?

Hi,

Sometimes when I run FB campaigns, it didn't ask for phone verification. Is phone verification necessary to keep you ad accounts alive longer? Or should I only phone verify my FB account when it prompts me to? Thanks.

Only when asked.

Sometimes they will ask for ID verification too.

No, only if they ask it. Run many accounts and just few of them are phone verified.

Yeah, good quality accounts are based on quality IPs and in that case you are not asked for phone verification when you create a new account...

When you mess up something they will even ask for an ID verification, takes a few days to process...

You should do everything in your power to mimic real user behavior, as regards to phone verification, go pickup a free or cheap pay as you go sim. Don't trust online verification services in case you get a re-verification message and need to enter a code.

I got prompted for an id just yesterday when I was apparently friend requesting people too rapidly. For the sake of metrics:
-I keep it to under 20 requests/day
-I use the "you may know" for choosing
-I never send more than 5 at a time

I'm a facebook newb, but I know a thing or two about reddit...and it's at the point now where your fake user needs a fake personality - wouldn't surprise me if facebook got there soon so long as they remain popular.

Reddit's so on top of their game I don't even try to understand what's going on behind the scenes at this point...I'd be willing to bet it's easier learning quantum physics than it is to fraud vote a post to the front page of that website.

Thank god twitter exists.

This is as good a post as any to mention this - does anyone know how one is able to force a user to follow you in twitter whenever they click on your profile images? Yes I know it's probably XSS, no I don't expect anyone to tell me - but come on it's killing me to find out.
