Adult websites in 2016? (22)
Hello everyone,
I'd like to get your guys' opinion on adult websites in 2016.
Do you think that it's worth the time, effort and money to create one?
Tubes sites and TGP's are fucking everywhere today. One search for models/pornstars/fetishes will yield millions of results in the search engines. How will I compete with these peeps that have been running their sites for years?
I had my own TGP site till a couple months ago, but decided to shut it down since it wasn't making any money. Was too much work and very little payout. Friend of mine also shut down his TGP site for the same reason. I was mainly promoting paysites. I thought a TGP site would make bank for me since I run a big twitter account where I post adult content, and thought my followers would go to my site and subscribe to the paysites I was promoting. But things didn't turn out as I had thought.
Now looking to start something else, something that has potential of making money. But I'm confused on what type of site I should create...
What type of content would be best?
Any tips or ideas you guys can share with meh, I'd greatly appreciate it.

It depends on what kind of traffic you know how to get, what content you know to create.
You know how to get adult traffic (using your Twitter)? Maybe try to build a website with content about male enhancement? Drive your adult traffic from Twitter to the website.
If you want to step away from adult, ask yourself what type of niche you think you can understand users and make it work? Where do you think you have a potential edge on the competition? Is it beauty (skin, diets)? Is it finance (credit reports, loans)?
It is very subjective.
I know and affiliate that has this well running concept in Germany:
He creates tons of sites for low level celebrities. Girls that were in Big Brother, fucked 1 time a soccer player and so on. He creates it even for chicks that did that shit 2-3 years ago.
There are always guys that look for it and he earns a little... But now comes the interesting part. Every few weeks 1 of this girls makes something extra ordinary like getting arrested, fucking a married super celebrety, showing her boobs at the parlament, getting signed for Jungle camp and so on. Now she gets tons of attention... And traffic explodes. He makes then more in 3 days then the rest of the month.
Would be worth a try in my eyes... Good luck anyway! Building up a own tube nowadays would need exclusive content, TGP you know yourself. Other alternative would be Blogs for super niche stuff, but that you can do mostly only successful if you like the niche as well...

You have basically two ways of building sites in adult, in a really simplified way.
You either go for low quality traffic in large volumes and leave the monetization to the traffic networks - for example tubes.
Or you go for niche specific or laser targeted traffic and try to actually sell something to it - for example review site, discount sites, cam profile sites ... etc.
Your twitter account could give you a good boost of low quality traffic, that you could further trade with similar sites. It will be hard to sell anything to these people tho, general adult traffic from twitter isnt known for its high quality. What people fail to realize when it comes to these low quality traffic sites is that 10k visits a day isnt a LOT of traffic. Even 100k a day isnt anything hot anymore, not when its 100k freeloaders looking for free porn to j..k off to 
When starting a site like this, its pretty much mandatory to have some source of free feeder traffic to start the trades, you can even create a big network of sites trading with each other - this will effectivelly inflate the number of ad impressions you can sell. The quality will be low but thats to be expected with a setup like this. So the problem is where to get the feeder traffic - your twitter account might help but Im not sure if its enough. Then you need the trades and it can be a pain to break into already running traffic partnerships, these people tend to ignore the new trade requests. I guess this was where you failed with your TGP site, you didnt start enough trades and you didnt have enough feeder traffic. The trades also increase your link popularity and can help with SEO a lot. And in all honesty, if you dont get a reasonable % of SE traffic, the site will die sooner or later anyways. So if you ever decide to start a site like this again, make sure you have the feeder, to have a trade plan and to have the SEO done properly. And I would also recomend to plan a network, not a single site.
OR you can take the other approach and that is what I would also recomend to you, go for small sites, focus on SE traffic and build those sites with a monetization plan in your mind.
Take the example blueflag gave you for example - its a really cool setup, utilizing the names of the celebs as the SE keywords and probably some celebrity paysite for monetization, those tend to work good with this type of traffic. Since the guy obviously owns a lot of sites like this, I bet he has some good link strategy and pumped up the SEO value of each of the sites, so he has good SE positions for the names in google for example. I have also seen a nice network like this made for the famous pornstars, those guys owned close to 500 pornstar blogs if Im not wrong, each of them dedicated to one pornstar. The monetization was selling their official paysites or paysites with plenty of scenes for that particular star. Then there were fleshlights or other sexual toys modeled after the stars vaginas etc ... they had a pretty complex monetization setup
There are way more types of sites you can do like this, the names of models is one option, then there are the names of paysites for example - you can build a review sites around it - I had very good results with this for years - take a look at my site which is still running and making sales daily : http://www.pornadept.com/. You can do a discount site, offering discounts to adult paysites, cam sites etc ... just negotiate the deals with the site owners first.
Another option : VOD sites have 1000's of titles, turn them into keywords and try to rank them, if you can do it, the money will be there.
Erotic stories can be an interesting segment too, that traffic is harder to monetize but a ton of surfers love to read the stories and there isnt an overload of story sites out there. The positive is, these people spend a lot of time on the sites which is a good SEO factor and also gives you chance to server them with more ads
Escorts - another good niche that is well monetizable with dating offers, you can build a fake site and see whether you can rank it somehow.
Cam girls - names of the most popular camgirls are already searched for keywords, rank them Or make sites with profiles from various cam sites and try to rank for the camsite name etc ...
Whatever you decide to build, focus on SE traffic, you simply need to rank it for keywords that have the potential to make money - so nothing like free video, free porn etc ... but more like : brazzers, escorts, paysite, fleshlight, live cam ... real products that have the potential to sell.

Like others have mentioned, adult dating and male enhancement is still popular. You have no idea how well male enhancement herb/pill/etc still converts. I would also look into doing a niche adult tube site, since like you mentioned, the market is so saturated. If there's one thing I've learned is that people will try to get off on *anything* . I swear if you made a landing page for idk, naked girls drinking milkshakes or something ridic like that, I swear the traffic should pour in haha
