POF Is Absolutely SHOCKING Me

Hi There!

I have lately been submitting some new images to POFpro, however it seems as if I can't get ANY pics approved whatsoever lately. I haven't been able to get a campaign live for 3 days straight now and am getting extremely frustrated and dishartened.

I tried resubmitting several times but they always get declined. Submitted a support ticket aswell to clear some things up but the won't answer.

Why does this keep happening? It seems as soon as my images containg the chest area, even though not revieling in any way and/or sexual, they stil get slapped with the explanation/reason "* Image: excessively large/unnatural breasts, buttocks focused, midrifts, nude upper body for men".

The only pics I can get approved are those with absolutely no body, ie containing just the face.

Why is this, how can this be? What can I do?

Interesting thing is. I logged into POF as a user and some the ads that are currently running are absolutely shocking..... excessive cleavage, panties, see thru dresses etc.

I feel sorry for you, because I had the same experience. I saw ads with almost naked girls/cougars running like horses, yet my ad like this one got rejected: http://prntscr.com/9lu9la

I didn't understand, and at that point I didn't want to anymore. Up to my opinion, if you have to struggle with IM, then do it with mobile or facebook.

POF's being very weird at the moment, probably to do with what's going on internally after it was acquired.

Honestly, I'd recommend that anyone who's running POF should at least consider an alternate traffic source as a backup option, if not move right now. POF's future as an affiliate traffic source ain't looking too rosy.

I know man, that's exactly what the problem is. You have to struggle so freaking much yet there's not even that much volume whatsoever, I mean, if you were raking in $500/day profit on POF that would be doing extremely well. Ie, this much fighting for not that many returns whatsoever. Atleast with mobile and Facebook, if you struggle but still manage to find profits, you have the chance to scale it beyond anything. That's why I'm considering quitting POF altogether and moving on to eaither Mobile, Pops or Facebook.

Yeah, that was one of the things I suspected. I mean, from what I have mostly read before, people seem to say that POF were some of the most chill traffic sources when it comes to approvals. Now it's the straight opposite.

Still, POF wasn't a traffic source I was planning to use long term in any way, mostly because of the very small volume in comparison to oter big traffic sources like Facebook, Google, Mobile and Display. I chose to start with it because of less competition(since they are closed for new accounts) and because of most people recommending it for newbies like me, also it has great software available, like POFpro wich makes everything so much easier.

The only problem and reason I am hesitant to move on straight away is because I have already invested over 1k in this and also have 1k balance in my ads account as of now. But if I have to, there's nothing to do about it but move on and count my losses. Just part of the game.

If I were to move on, what traffic source would you recommend me to focus on? Most people nowadays seem to recommend Mobile for te most part, aswell as Pops and Redirects for newbies.

Thanks for the help BTW!

Caurmen,
Any traffic sources you recommend for mainstream dating?

@ericnyc - at the moment, not really. I'm on the lookout and there are a couple of promising options, but none I'd feel comfortable actively recommending.

However, where there's change there's gold. If mainstream dating is your favoured vertical, right now I'd recommend actively but cautiously testing any new traffic source - like the one mentioned above - that looks promising for mainstream dating. You could get in ahead of the pack and make bank whilst costs are still low.

Do remember to approach all traffic sources with skepticism, though. Bot tests should be first priority, and keep the deposits low!

"Bot tests should be first priority, and keep the deposits low!"

Caurmen,
How do you check for bot traffic?

01-07-2016 10:56 AM #13 caurmen (Administrator)

@ericnyc - http://stmforum.com/forum/showthread...Your-Campaigns has a few good ways in it. Check the comments too, there are more good tips and techniques in there.

Other tricks - put an invisible CTA in your lander (make it really small and almost exactly the same colour as the background). If that's getting clicks, it's bots. Also, check the ISPs for the traffic you're getting. If you're getting a load of clicks from Digital Ocean or Amazon, chances are - bots.

Caurmen, if I were to quit POF, what traffic source would you recommend me to dig into instead?

@uroshinho10 - As I mentioned above, if you're wanting to stay in mainstream dating, I don't have any good recommendations for you right now. However, I will keep my eye out.

If you want to get into a new vertical, then I'd recommend having a read of stmforum.com/forum/showthread.php?24899-What-s-Working-In-2015-Traffic-Sources-And-Verticals-EXPOSED - it's still more or less current, although I'll be working on a new one in a few months.

Sorry for the late reply, but I have been thinking of getting into mobile, do you think it would be a better option for me as opposed to pops?
