Why is it that a lot of networks don't have SSL encryption on their application?

Just curious.

I am in the process of applying to Convert2Media, f5Media, Ads4dough, Adsimilis etc..

A lot of those ask for sensitive information like SSN # etc.. but the application is not encrypted/SSL'ed.

Why is this? I thought this was a basic requirement/common sense.

Or..are these networks not that great/run by people that don't care about security?

Also, are these networks sufficient enough for a newbie like myself to get started in? Thanks

Just curious..

I don't know about the SSL thing but to answer your other question... All 4 of those networks are really solid and have a great track record. They are good for a newbie or anyone else.

just use the url with https://... and most of that networks will then start using ssl

Most networks aren't really that concerned with best practices of web design... the website is a pretty unattended front for their business, where they likely get 95% of intake via word of mouth and traditional networking (not SEO for example and organic discovery).
