So I have launched a new campaign on Facebook in the job-searching vertical. Don't worry I've done my due diligence and made sure it was complaint with Facebook which it is. Since I am using the tutorial by Zeno it seems like for that he just plucked out the ages 13 - 17 out of thin air so this is what I've done with my Facebook Ad campaign targetting males, 18 - 23, based in the USA. So is there a better way to find out which age groups/demographics to target in facebook.
I tried using the website service similarweb.com but it when it comes to audience demographics it told me nothing except that people like the following categories such as business and industry, career opportunities etc.
How do you find the correct age-range and demographics to target on Facebook if your running a job search offer?
Sure is!
Do this
1) fire up audience insights tool
2) find the top job sites on google in the USA (I did it for you -> http://www.ebizmba.com/articles/job-websites)
3) into the interest section on audience insights, start typing in their name, when you find a match add it, then add every single other job site in here
4) after you added all, click pages tab, and sort by affinity - you want the top 5 highest affinity fan pages on FB related to job sites like these
5) setup new camp, targeting 1 interest per adset 18-65+ with 1 ad.
That's how I'd start
Good luck!!
This is great thank you
