Star Wars and Game of Thrones Merging? (viral sharing fun)

Admittedly this is a high pay-off/low probability of success venture, and before I give you guys and ladies the details I will disclaim that I am devoting a minimal amount of time/resources to it so as not to take away from the paid advertising that is working well. But, if I can get this to “go viral” I can pick up some “free” opt ins and Adsense revenue…and it would also be a hell of a lot of fun.

What I’ve done is written a detailed article trying to start a rumor about (why) Game of Thrones should merge with Star Wars and presenting it to bloggers/writers (who need Star Wars stories that generate page views) as a rumor that Game of Thrones and Star Wars ARE (or might) merge. It’s fun for their readers, and if Buzzfeed or Upworthy picks it up, it could get a ton of traffic and shares.

Trying to engineer something to “go viral” is incredibly hard because it’s so unpredictable (like the Honey Badger Video and the Cats and Cucumbers video). But Star Wars and Game of Thrones are both heavily in the news, bloggers are desperate for content, and the page is entertaining.

The page itself is here:

http://powerfulandattractivemen.com/...-of-star-wars/

…and it has actually gotten some shares and mentions on Twitter (but no opt ins yet). [ @caurmen—as a filmmaker and fellow whisky drinker, you might enjoy my breakdown of the similarities between the two series ]

Here’s what I’ve done so far:

Emailed my opt in list asking them to share on Social Media, comment, submit to Buzzfeed, Upworthy, Etc.

Paid a few cute girls on Fiverr to Tweet, DM, and email writers and bloggers from publications such as TheAtlantic, theChive, Upworthy, Variety, etc who have previously written articles about Star Wars or Game of Thrones.

Bought some PPV traffic to relevant blogs and gossip sites so it appears that the article is getting pageviews…there is nothing a blogger loves more than pageviews.

I’ve also re-read Ryan Holiday’s Trust Me I’m Lying: Confessions of a Media Manipulator, so if/when there is an article on a smaller blog, I’ll immediately send it to bigger bloggers.

I’m also going to send out a few press releases, although it’s my understanding those are not necessarily read by the media—if someone knows of a really good service, let me know.

So, my question to all you smart guys and ladies is what else can be done to get this article passed around during the buildup to Star Wars, then the release of Winds of Winter, then the release of Game of Thrones Season 6?

Its too AD-HEAVY, your intention literaly screams from it, influential sources will not share it im sorry The top slide-in banner/link doesnt help it either. If this goes viral, I will really be surprised

Why not implement the ads right after it starts snowballing?
