US Brain on Revcontent

Hi Guys...

Now it's my turn to do a follow along... I'm not a newbie in affiliate marketing, but this is a new vertical for me, so any suggestions are appreciated.

What I've done so far:

Created the lander and optimized it for speed.

Picked 2 offers from 2 different networks based on AM's advice.

One $60 CPS and one $55 CPS

Created 1 campaign on Revcontent with 4 different images and 2 different texts = 8 ads in total.

Targeting: US Desktop - Bid: $0.09.

The stats:

Total spend: $185
Total visits: 2.156
Lander Click Throughs: 386 (Nearly 19% which should be OK, without being WAUW)
Conversions: 0!

What I don't get here is the fact that 386 people have clicked through the lander... And they actually spent time reading the stuff and spend 3-5 minutes on the lander before going to the offer (i use hotjar to track this)... But the MOFOs don't place the order, even though the 2 offers I've picked should have a 5% conversion rate according to my AMs... So the potential buyers seem to be somehow disappointed when they arrive at the offer page.

Based on the lander CTR, this campaign should have some potential... Don't You agree?

So the big question is... Should I let it run for a few more days... Or should I switch to other offers... Right now I've paused the campaign until I make this decision.

On my todo is also an exit popup (soft) on the lander to raise the CTR, but right now the focus is on finding the reason why the visitors to the offer don't convert (Maybe I should order a bottle of brain pills for myself to come to the right conclusion ).

Cheers and have a great weekend... Please drop a line, if you have any suggestions or comments

Which brain offer are you promoting? Are you pushing via Clickbooth?

Definitely rotate the offer/network and see if you can get any of them to convert.

I have zero experience with native but am planning to start experimenting soon - so am looking forward to learning from your follow-along!

For a high payout offer such as this, it will take a much larger budget to get to profitability. (Please see this post on how higher payout offers will require more test budget vs. smaller payout offers.) $185 in spend is just 3x offer payout, which isn't really enough to gauge whether any combination of your 2 landers x 2 offers is promising.

By that I mean: You currently have 2 offers x 2 landers which gives you 4 combos. $185/4 = $46 per combo. For all we know, one of those combos may end up being profitable if you run more traffic to the campaign. For example, if you make 1 conversion in the next $50 you spend, you'd be breaking even for one of your 4 offer+lander combos. The disclaimer is that the campaign could just as well continue to NOT convert. And you know this too - otherwise you wouldn't be hesitating about continuing this camp.

In addition to running more traffic to see whether you have a promising lander+offer combo in your current landers and offers, you can always test more brain pill offers, and test more angles for your landers.

I guess the question to ask now would be: How much money would you be willing to invest in testing this offer? This will depend on how much cashflow you have, how much indication there is that this type of offer (or even these 2 offers in particular) is performing well on native, and probably other factors which I can't think of at the moment...

Sorry I wasn't able to answer your question, but hopefully I've provided a bit of food for thought!

I'm still new to native, but from what I've experienced so far, if you're just running RON like that with no targeting for a CPS product, you can expect to see pretty dismal results. Upwards of a $1k for a single sale at worst, which is actually what happened with a recent CPS campaign I tried.

You really need to talk with your account manager and get some targets or widget ids to start. Otherwise you're going to be burning a hole in your wallet just throwing campaigns up to see what sticks so to speak.

running a cps deal for brain on native is difficult, switch to a trial and try that. might have more success
