Summary:
Started this follow along as a Newbie in mobile marketing. Over the past year I dabbled with Clicbank and FB (ugh), and Teespring (cool, but man). and made "squat"..lol.
But it was all a learning experience.
Figured I would get SERIOUS with MOBILE because of the expected growth, and pure volume of traffic( that is growing).
I have spent the last 3 months soaking up the knowledge on the most popular Forums and blogs. Now I have taken action and put together
this follow along in order to HOLD myself accountable and also get input from members whom are obviously more experienced than me.
MEMBERSHIP to STM is supposed to have those priveleges right? ..lol.
So over the last week I have got accepted to 4 major Aff Networks, and signed up to 2 pop traffic sources and 1 Display source.

About Me:
I have a full time job as a digital marketing strategist. I have years of experience in marketing analystics. In my college days (90's) messed around with websites etc.
In the last year have made some extra pocket change by selling physical products via EBAY, and by utilzing Youtube Videos etc.
So I figured I had the apptitude for AFFMarketing..
Spent 3 months studying the industry and different methods of making money. Struggled with either doing PPV or jumping straight into MOBILE.
Decided to JUMP into mobile, well because if I have to start from ZERO. Minus well start with where the "$Action$" is...even though I know there will be a learning curve.
joined the major Aff Forums. STM is hands down the best and worth every penny. Read every post on Charles Ngo's blog, Finch Sells, Malan Darras blog and youtube channel, Atilla's Blog, Taiwo( Cash Money Affiliate) Blog etc.
All of these where no nonsense. Emphasized the WORK it acutally takes to be successful and not a work 2 hrs a day on an island...that many scammers try to portray.
So after Thanksgiving I got serious. Applied to some networks.
Got accepted by Clickdealer, Adsmillis, Peerfly, AffZoom. Sigend up for Go2Mobi, Pocash, Popads.
Have subscription to
Subscrived to ADPLEXITY (cool tool, awesome for knowing whats running)
This is a way to hold myself accountable.
Haven't gotten HOSTING setup yet.
To host my landing pages I'm not sure if I need a VPS or if I can JUST go with Amazon Web services hosting & CDN (Cloudfire) ?? What do you guys think?
I know all the successful guys (AKA money to blow) are at AWA right now...lol.
My goal is to go next year.
Yesterday
Got tracking Domain setup
Got
got signed up to Popcash, Popads , (already have account with Go2Mobi)
Loaded up a campaign Direct Linking for now..to test
iphone sweepstakes offer
Eastern European Country
$4.00 Payout
setup on Popads.
As I'm typing this...I'm waiting on approval from the traffic network. *shrug*.
If you are only running a test to check
Ok so these are the results of letting traffic run for about 4 hours
shaking head

Alright just added HOSTING
I was unsure if I needed a VPS or just a CDN??
Well @Caurmen post helped me big time! just got setup on AMAZON AWS CLOUDFRONT!!! working like a charm!

Maybe look at your placements and start pausing placements that are eating the bulk of the spend?
Not too much to report the last few days.
I have been using Adplexity to see what appears to be successful.
Also applied and got DENIED by ZEROPARK.. geez they do NOT want to take my money to run traffic.... but they will take my money to use

Here are the stats

Hey atlmarketer,
I just want to let you know that for the past 3 years a lot of Polish networks were created (with only pin submits) where we have much better landing pages and different way of creating them (+ different placement of cost footers) so maybe that's the case why you can't convert the ones from global networks as people are already aware. Pins are HEAVILY pushed here with these local networks, you can find it everywhere (seriously, just opened fb and I can already see 3 viral posts in stream promoting them) and lot of "scam alert" articles were made on popular news sites.
I think people will not convert as much on the offers you see in global networks.
I would drop Poland but of course you will do what you want
Good luck!
Thank you!
I paused the Poland campaign... and running in the Czech Republic now.
UPDATE:
Got my first profitable campaign!
MY AM gave me a list of offers that could be run aggressively.
I chose a few of the offers/ ripped some landers/ and loaded
Much to my surprise. One of them was profitable off the bat.
So I ran about $12 worth of traffic or about almost 2.5X the payout.
I see the highest CTR and ALL OF THE CONVERSIONS.... are coming from Android. so cut iOS.
See if I can improve ROI.
Figured I would give an update. All is progressing nicely.
Last week I got a full list recommended offers from my affiliate manager over at Clickdealer for some campaigns that I could run on POPS "very aggressively".
So I'm currently on POPADS. I've been getting familiar with that platform over the last few weeks.
I logged onto Adplexity did some spying... and saw what lander styles seem to be winners. So I copied a few and tested about 5 of them.
There is 1 lander that has been converting better than all the others so I had it translated into 2 different languages. Thanks FIVERR!!.
So here we are
OFFER 1 is divided up into 3 seperate campaigns:
1 Android
1 iPhone
1 Android Copy - to get more traffic
overall this offer is in the GREEN for me about 35% CTR on the landers - and 50%+ ROI.
I copied and pasted this over to POPCASH yesterday... but I think they are on Holiday and will not be back in the office until tomorrow to approve my campaign.
Offer 2
tier 2 GEO
Set the campaign up early this morning and so far its in the GREEN with a couple of conversions today.
Offer 3
tier 2 GEO
Set up this morning...no conversions as of yet.
What I have learned these last few weeks as a NEWBIE...just by launching campaigns.. just can't be learned by READING the blogs and forums.
I ran into tracking issues that I had to fix. I forgot to put the postback URL into Clickdealer *doh*
I wondered why I wasn't getting any COST PARAMETERS populated in
Learning how to SPY ... using Adplexity and not just RIPPING LANDERS blindly. I thought I had a "HOT" banner to run in Hungary.... but I double checked the text... on Google translate and realized that the text was in Czech and not Hungarian...lol!!! I would have wasted clicks had I not gone to the extra step of double checking the language....lol.
congrats on your first green campaign
Wow! Very nice progress! You say you're a newbie but you're handling everything like a real pro - so I'll keep my suggestions brief:
1)Start testing bids. Clone the camp a few times and set them to different bids ranging from real low to real high (remember to set a daily limit on the budget!!) Run some traffic to see how they do. From there, you can either a)keep running just the most profitable camp and pausing the rest, or b)keep all the promising ones running and cut placements with this tool.
2)Since you're already at 50% ROI for that one offer, you may be ready to scale - which you've already started doing by duplicating your camp to PopCash. Try to retest the several best landers instead of just trying your best lander, because different sources have different placements that will react differently to landers. Also keep in mind that you'll need to test different targeting options on the new traffic source as well, including bids. Other traffic sources to try are: mediahub, selfadvertiser, adcash, propeller, gunggo, wiget media.
3)Compile a list of similar offers for the same geo across various affiliate networks, and set up a camp to test those - use a split-test calculator to cut offers. (Treat the same offer available on multiple affiliate networks as different offers.) Find the best sweeps offer for that geo!
4)And of course you should continue to test landers, and/or variations of your best lander, to improve ROI or at least keep ahead of ad burnout.
I would suggest focusing your time on scaling the winning offer first, testing other offers in the same geo second, and testing other geos third.
Again, congratulations on the green campaign! Your progress is extremely impressive considering you were still trying to figure out tracking earlier this month! Respect!
