Starting POP Traffic With Popcash [Newbie]
Hey everyone ,so I am a student from India , 21 years old and have done a bit of IM in the last couple of years .Have been hearing a lot about STM so finally decided to join in.I do FB ads mainly , and had some pretty good campaigns , not too much success , but yep , made around 3k 4k$ in profits with a few of them. But i am still a newbie as i feel the succesful ones in FB were just lucky. So as i joined here , the main trend seems to be mobile and pops.Mobile would be a great option except i am really bad at making banners for them.So i decided ill try out the pops with some of my winning campaigns from FB. Atleast the banners i can avoid for now.
What I DID :
1.Made Popcash account and deposited 10$
2.Setup a dying campaign from FB onto here with tracking setup within the cpa network itself
3.Added the 10$ budget to it and chose the country and went for all categories and added Android and Windows as the devices as those were the most converting ones from FB.
Questions :
1.Is 10$ too small of a budget to test it out ? ( I usually check with 10$ in fb for a campaign and if it's not getting the results i need ,I apply some minor twists and if there are still no profits ,I drop it entirely) Can i use the same gameplan in here ? or is it completely different ?
2.I read somewhere that direct offers work best on POP traffic , is this true ? or you need a landing page to get more conversions ?
3.Any other suggestions would be great!
Thanks!

First of all - may I ask what type of offer you're transferring from FB to pop? With FB you can target by demographic. This is something you can't do effectively with MOST pop traffic sources. (Although some pop sources do allow targeting by category, that will typically give you low traffic volume. Alternatively, there are sites like trafficvance and leadimpact that will allow you to target websites that are relevant to your offer, but I can't recommend these as I don't have personal experience using them.) Offers that convert best on pop are broad-appeal offers like sweeps, bizopp, antivirus. So that would be the first thing I'd check - whether or not the offer will even have a chance on pop.
As for budget - it would depend on many factors. What's the payout on your offer? Based on personal experience it's highly unlikely that you'll start to see promise with such a low budget (unless you're talking about $10 PER DAY and not in total).
There are offers that can work using direct-linking alone on pop. However, those are few and far between, and you'll often need to negotiate good pay bumps by doing volume. The standard suggestion is that landers are necessary.
With pop traffic, the focus should be on testing offers and landing pages until you find a good combo, then cut anything that doesn't perform well enough - placements, carriers, devices, models, browsers, times of day, days of week, etc. etc.
Hope that helps!
Amy
