To get approval or not? (4)

To get approval or not?

I have been using DMR while running my campaigns with landers. These landers contain some scripts that some advertisers might not like like .. call out carrier, location, vibration, countdown etc.

Now I have one campaign on sweeps that is showing some light. ROI is decent so I am planning to scale it. The thing is .. my AM doesn't know I am running those landers. I've only submitted my banners for approval before I tested the campaign and not the landers. The content on the lander itself is compliant as I use "You may win" and other non aggressive angles.

Do you think I should get approval before I scale it? If I get caught I'll probably not get paid. However, if my AM wants me to remove the vibration or countdown .. I am sure the ROI will go back to negative.

I am also interested to find out if anyone had any success with 100% compliant landers. No call out, no countdown/vibration/back button.

Check this post out "http://stmforum.com/forum/showthread.php?24892-The-diary-of-two-hustlers-mobile-pins/page4" . I don't know if they got any cut from the $6k revenue they generated...basically they had a non complainant lander in the mix.

Not only will you not get paid if caught, you will lose credibility from your AM/network. Not sure if the risk out-weigh the rewards. That's up to you to decide.
Run it by ur AM and see what he/she says.

The people doing the most volume on Pin specifics offers usually fall into one of two categories.

1. Running aggressive but approved (they convince the advertiser because of the volume)
2. Running non aggressive at very low ROI and they make it up with the volume.

If an affiliate gets caught running unapproved by the network, they would usually get told to pause. If you get caught by regulators and they refuse to pay the network then its usually up to the networks discretion and your relationship with them whether they pay you or not.

Its a cat and mouse game and the networks and advertisers usually know whats up, and are probably secretly hoping you run aggressive, since it earns them more money too. You could take a chance if you are able/ready to take a hit on non payment should you get caught.

Always, always, always get approval from your AM

They are the ones paying you + you want to build a long term relationship with them + you want them to fight for you when the advertiser starts complaining, which they will only do if you play full-transparancy with them
