Special characters in FB ads

I just saw this ad
http://screencloud.net/v/rfnd

How do you put stars, triangular arrows, million people play this etc into FB ad? Is this clean/white hat?

Please try it out and let us know. My guess is it's OK as long as it's not excessive. Think about ads in non-ASCII language like Hebrew, Korean or Arabic.

I think it will only work if you create your at as a promoted post

Not sure if promoted post would work, try it. Facebook generally plugs loopholes like this in terms of promoted posts being able to get ad content in that is not normally allowed (e.g. 20% text rule).
