Beyondhosting CDN PROBLEM!

Hi guys, so as it is, I decided to purchase a CDN service from Beyondhosting and I'm having trouble cnaming my CDN domain. I sent a support ticket to the staff however I'm not really sure what to do. Here's our exchange,

me:

Hi, i bought this domain mydomain.com from you guys so that I could CNAME my CDN url which is cdnxxx.beyondhosting.net. I did the Cnaming from your interface through Manage Domain, Management Tools, DNS Management.
I specified:
Hostname: www
Record Type: Cname
Address: cdnxxx.beyondhosting.net.
Is there anything wrong with my steps?
Thanks,
Ivan

staff:

Thank you for contacting support.
The issue is that you cannot point a cname directly at http://cdnxxx.beyondhosting.net/ this will come up with a forbidden message.
The best thing to do would be to do a redirect to a certain page directly on the CDN.

me:

Please educate me on the following as I'm a little confused.
The purpose of the CDN is to enable fast loading speeds from other parts of the world further from my server in the US. If I were to host my domain on my dedicated server in the US and use it to redirect it to my CDN domain, wouldnt it defeat the purpose?

staff:

The CDN only loads certain types of files, html images, etc. But there normally must be some connection to a server. You cannot just simply host off of the CDN, as it's not possible. Therefore you would still need to host the domain on your server, it would just be using CloudFlare's nameservers.

It seems to be a little contradicting and now I'm not sure who's right and who's wrong and what are the exact steps I should take?

Server,CDN gurus please come in and help, I would be very gladly appreciated!

Thanks!

why do I see tutorials everywhere to CNAME your CDN url but the support at beyondhosting is insisting that "The CDN is a service to pull static content from, such as images. So you can't CNAME it ".

Am I missing something somewhere?

Their staff is clueless and it's frustrating for a host that's supposed to be affiliate-focused.

Don't use their CDN and move to Amazon's or Rackspace's instead. Theirs isn't the easiest to setup.
For both Amazon/Rackspace CDN, there exist two good guides on STM. Atilla's and Caurmen's.

"You cannot just simply host off of the CDN, as it's not possible." - This is false.

Here's atilla's guide: http://iamattila.com/media-buying-10...ding-pages.php
Caurmen's: http://stmforum.com/forum/showthread...g+amazon+guide
