Holidays and Online Marketing

Hey Y'all,

Hope the week is going well for everyone. This week is probably the biggest holiday in the US. Thanksgiving!!!! With that comes a few things. Tons of eating, Football, and possibly buying a new pair of sweat pants Now this all sounds amazing but what does this mean for Online Marketers like yourself? Some offers come down, hours change, and everything seems to slow down. I have a hard time believing that there is zero opportunity out there so I wanted to bring this to the forum.I feel just because its the holiday doesn't mean people won't need services. Toilet gets plugged so you need a plumber, oven stops working so you need appliance repair. Heat shuts off so its time to call HVAC. I might be going a bit over board but the point I am trying to make is with every challenge comes a opportunity so how do affiliate marketers make it work

- Does everything actually shut down?

- Does this almost act as a mini holiday for Affiliates?

- Are there any offers people still run?

- Has anyone made a killing during the holidays?

Being an AM means that you are either always or never on holidays depending who is looking at it

Online marketing is a global business, worldwide and 24/7. If you take a rest somebody somewhere is not. It doesn't mean that you shouldn't enjoy holiday as everybody, in fact if course you should to come back with fresh ideas, but so not expect the world to stop because somewhere in the world its holidays and you decided to stop working.

In fact I would say that most of online marketing verticals do way better during holidays, when more people can enjoy the offers.

Working for yourself you are free, for the good and for the bad that comes with it.

I think Taylor is referring specifically to the USA Pay Per Call space and not online marketing as a whole. Most call centers and home services close up shop for the holidays so it can be tough. On the other hand, there are some popular ppcall services that boom while everyone is traveling: tow trucks, DUI lawyers, etc.

Have a business partner/back up person to cover for you when you are on holidays, sick leave or m/paternity leave.
Working alone is boring, build a team and give them responsibility. The numbers will follow.

@makeitrain I was referring to more Pay Per Call but I don't think I made that as clear as I should have.

@cbrughmans - Thats exactly what I was thinking for some of the SMB's of the world. SMB's could make a killing on a towing job, repairing a oven needed for turkey dinner, or repairing a flood in the basement.
