Hey guys, got an odd issue here. I've cname'd a subdomain to my volume tracking domain. When I test the campaign URL on PC, iOS, everything works fine. When I try testing on an android phone, i get the "unable to resolve DNS error". If I use the original
When I go to verify DNS settings in Voluum, it returns me the following error:
CNAME validation error
Note that it may take some time for new settings to propagate across the DNS servers before we can pick up changed values.
Your current DNS configuration
track.example.com. CNAME http://abc123.voluumtrk2.com.
http://abc123.voluumtrk2.com. A 57.xxx.7.58
http://abc123.voluumtrk2.com. A 59.0.xxx.180
http://abc123.voluumtrk2.com. A 58.6.xxx.123
Your DNS configuration should contain one of records:
track.example.com. IN CNAME abc123.voluumtrk2.com..
track.example.com. IN CNAME abc123.voluumtrk.com..
track.example.com. IN CNAME abc123.trackvoluum.com..
The error is driving me nuts as I can't run any of my android specifc offers. Any insight from you guys? First time using ns1 so I'm sure it's an error on my end. As mentioned earlier, if I use the voluum tracking link directly, everything works without a hitch on all OS. But once I use my custom domain, android OS is unable to resolve the website.
TIA
Figured it out, remove http:// from CNAME records for future reference.
As an aside, NSone service/support turnaround time is phenomenal.
When you're referring to NS1, is that some other service? I'm familiar w/ it as a nameserver item, but that's it. I'm looking at changing my

Outstanding - thanks for the quick turn. Haven't found that covered either on
I think you may mean NSOne?
Subtle but substantial difference there - ns1 is the typical subdomain of nameservers so Googling that won't find the DNS management platform you're like referring to.
And yes, for the record, the domain name system records you create should never have protocols or file paths in them, these aren't part of how DNS works.
