Best email service for "unsubscribers"?

Hi,

I have actual buyers of $100 products that are automatically added to an autoresponder after purchase.
However, I am using GetResponse for this and about 70% of them unsubscribe within a few weeks.

Now, according to the rules of GetResponse, there is no way I can mail these people anymore after they have unsubscribed.

I have checked MailChimp and Aweber and they both forces you to include a footer with an address as well as an
unsubscribe button.

Now, I am not in the US and hence I should not have to care about the CAN-SPAM act. These people have agreed to
sign up for an email newsletter once they purchased and I wanna keep having the option to mail them even after
they have unsubscribed.

I am looking for a way to mail this list without a footer or unsubscribe button. What is the best way?
I need high reliability and delivery rates still.

Hi Lord Charles, like you I just joined the forum.

What best you can do is get mandrill app services and use with interspire or any other smtp sending app.

hope this will help

If 70% of them are unsubscribing after a few weeks, then you have a relationship problem with them...whatever it is you're sending, they don't like. The greater opportunity lies in finding out what's causing them to unsubscribe so quickly, then sending them content/pitches they are interested in and look forward to receiving from you. A list of $100 buyers is very valuable, and should last you years, if you build a relationship with them...I still have raving fans and buyers on my list who opted in, in 2004. Continuing to email to people who've said they don't want to hear from you is not going to necessarily result in an increase in sales....better to find out what they respond to so they will happily give you money for years to come.

Yes that is very sound advice and I agree to a large extent. I still have some pretty good open rates overall however (80-200% on every email) and pretty decent conversion rates on whatever I sell on the backend. I have tested 2 different autoresponders, where in one I had a more toned down language and much more advice and content...where in the other one it was more in your face selling. The in your face selling got me about twice the amount of unsubscribes, but also more sales overall and better open rates. Now I'm doing something of a blend between the two, trying to figure out the sweet spot. But I should probably go back to the drawing board a bit anyway.

The solution here may be to segment subscribers into different lists, a list that responds to the in your face stuff, and a list that responds to the kinder, gentler approach. If you have good open rates in the beginning, sometimes you send can send email that directs them to click on a link indicating which style they prefer, so that you can sublist a percentage of them, and craft different messages to different sublists.

Pretty much all of them will stop you from re-adding people who have unsubscribed. It is very annoying when people do this. I have an on-going issue with a guy I bought a (crap) WSO from over 3 years ago who sends me 3 emails every day... eventually I had to contact aweber myself at their abuse email because no matter how many times I left, he added me again. I think he must have got booted off as I started getting them from him again but this time on activecampaign...again straight to their abuse customer service :/

Charlie you lucky duck! johna5150 is one of the best email marketers in the industry (if not THE best lol). I would re-read everything he says 5 times and take action.

It's a good idea, will give it a thought and see how I could implement it.

If you take any regular business outside of internet marketing, most will never allow you to unsubscribe. I have real estate brokers who email me every time they have a new listing, and it's impossible to unsubscribe from their lists (even by calling and yelling).

So - if people unsubscribe, they don't like what you are sending them. On the long run it ruins your sender reputation keeping them on your list.
A thing you could test - and we have good results with is to add a double opt-out form. That means when your subscribers click on the unsubscribe button a new window will open where they have to confirm unsubscribing, maybe even let them write their email to unsubscribe themself to make the process more difficult. We saw a unsubscribe rate lowered with +50%.
But keep in mind that it may ruin your sender reputation having those subscribers which not is 100% satisfied with your mails.

We use sendgrid to handle unsubscribes for our newsletters - it also helps us inbox, when our newsletters contain a bunch of information on Affiliate Content

To handle suppression lists for our offers, so email affiliates can scrub against them, we use Optizmo. It's a pricy service but we have to make sure anyone running email for us in the US is compliant.
