help needed with tracking

Hi guys i need some help!

i've been running on popcash recently and got confused while setting up my tracking and lander

While i've read the tracking guide on STM and watched the Voluum video tutorial several times, i am still confused as to how a few things work..

but please bear with me as i try to explain my situation (not exactly good with the terminologies involved in TS and Voluum)

In my landers, i've been using specific call outs such as brand/model/city/country via "document.write(getURLparamter('x'))"

I also do note that the lander URL set up in voluum has to be http://www.mydomain.com/index.html?x={x} before the lander can display the x value on user's screen.

Now my question is ,

1) can 'x' value be of anything ?

2) what is this 'x' value limited to? Is it limited to Volumm, or is it limited to what the TS can provide?

3) if it is provided by the TS, how and where can i check what TS provides what?

I will be eternally grateful if someone could answer me these questions .. if you find it hard to explain over text here, you can also pm me and we could talk over skype..

Are these tokens dynamic tokens? I do not see brand, model, and IP being tokens for popcash. Does that mean that I cannot set them up in volumm lander configuration and cannot call them out in my HTML lander?

Right. I'll add these tokens in the landers tab. Are these landers defined as "dynamic tokens"? If yes, they (model/brand/ip) are not listed under popcash's dynamic tokens list.

Then back to the same question. If they are not listen as dynamic tokens available for my chosen TS, how can I set it up in the lander?

The model/brand/ip tokens are handled by Voluum I believe, they do not need to be provided by the traffic source for you to use them. But I could be wrong

Hi steel! Thanks for your input. If these tokens are handled by Voluum, what are the dynamic tokens provided by the traffic source being used for?

They are used to track specific information from the Traffic Source. An example would be [WEBSITEID] from PopAds, that token is used to track which sites are displaying your ad, this is useful because you'll be able to see which websites are performing poorly and blacklist them on the traffic source, saving you money. It's up to you to determine if a certain token is worth using or not.

Alright. So if dynamic tokens are provided by TS, what are the tokens that are set up in the lander configuration in Voluum called?
