Hosting Landers On CDN?

Hi,

just read about CDN and forgive me if my questions sound noob.

would i be able to host my entire landing page on CDN instead of a VPS if i have jquery and audio files on it?

I understand that php landing pages cant be on CDN but I've only used php in the past due to CPVlab. A tracker like Voluum is able to do without php and use html pages?

Thanks,
Ivan

For VPS, most affiliates use BeyondHosting or LiquidWeb, there's a coupon on this forum somewhere. Comes with cPanel so that makes it slightly easier if you're non-technical. Use Cloudflare's CDN if you need something simple that's good enough for non-US traffic.

For pop traffic, host your landers on Amazon Cloudfront/Rackspace Cloud Files.
Use Kraken.io to optimize your images.

Keep it simple.

If I use a dedicated cloud server instead of the usual VPS. Would getting a CDN still have faster loading times outside the U.s?

Hey thuglife, thanks for the tip here. I've registered Beyond Hosting for VPS although I haven't made use of it to be honest (while I'm still figuring everything else and focusing on direct linking at the moment). Do you think I should sign up CDN with Beyond as well since I''ve got VPS with them? How does it make things easier compared to setting it up on Amazon Cloudfront for instance?

Thanks in advance!

@1vansyl - yes, you can host an entire lander including JS and audio on a CDN. And yep, Voluum is a good accompaniment to that.

@phaeton_mka - Beyond's CDN is fast and friendly to use. I'd definitely give it a go if you already have an account with them.

Thanks for that @Caurmen. It's weird since I went to speak with Beyond Hosting and asked for more info but the rep recommended Cloudflare (to go on their free plan) instead of purchasing another CDN package on top of my VPS package if I'm budget-conscious. And even if it is best to purchase a CDN with Beyond Hosting, how much should I be spending per month if I'm a newbie and haven't done this before and no past data to guide me?

@phaeton_mka - I wouldn't recommend cloudflare for am stuff. If you're concerned about minimising spend, Cloudfront is good - on small campaigns you'll probably stay within the free tier.

@caurmen - Thanks for the tip. Btw, if you dont recommend Cloudfare, which are the CDN providers you'd recommend? I see a few people using Rackspace, what do u think about that? And how does Beyondhosting's CDN compare?

Thanks!

If you need any help setting this up please feel free to use our live chat. Our CDN is is easy to use and the price will be dropping significantly soon.

Were going to just go ahead and stomp out the competition in the CDN space with $0.03/GB pricing starting. :-)

@1vansyl - I've had good results with Cloudfront, even on very small campaigns. Also, Beyond's CDN did pretty well in my tests last year, and it sounds like Tyler's got some interesting stuff cooking there!

Interesting. What makes you say this, Caurmen?

Is it specifically the CDN aspect you're talking about, or their DNS as well?

I'm currently using DNSMadeEasy and was inclined to give Cloudflare's DNS a shot again after seeing this recent speed comparison: http://www.solvedns.com/dns-comparison/

https://www.cdn77.com/ is what I have been using. It's really nice and works well.

Question is I an hosting my landing page on amazon cdn and my tracking is with Voluum. Do I still need my VPS?

If cloudfront can host HTML files then no you won't have to use your VPS, but keep in mind that it might be cheaper to host a VPS than run 10 mil hits on your HTML file. Check out Amazon's pricing. http://calculator.s3.amazonaws.com/index.html
