My Whole Campaign [Test #1] on Adserve.com (Dating Ads)
This campaign is relating to:
http://stmforum.com/forum/showthread...rk-Adserve.com
Adserve.com is a new self serve traffic network for fileserve.com, so i thought I'd give it a run!
The Interface:

As you can see there is NO CTR or CPC!! Weird.. So it's VERY hard to optimize your ads and quite confusing on what steps you need to take to improve your campaign
Offers tested: SpeedDate, True Christian Singles, Mate1
Ad Screenshot:

Other 4 Images:
Suggested Bid Range $1.54 - $1.98 CPM
Actual Bids: $0.35 CPM - $0.50 CPM
Best CR Offer: Speeddate (CR of 5.67%)
Conversions: 26 ($2.90 payout)
Spent $110
Profit:
$-34 (not bad)
*I could probably get a payout of $3.30 with some volume which would = $-25$ profit.
Testing a few more dating offers/networks and a landing page and I'm sure this could be decently profitable!
- I was able to start bids off at $1.20 CPM, and lowered it by 30cents every hour, with no hit to traffic at all until i got to 0.50 CPM, then traffic slowed a bit. Eventually i got bids to 0.35 CPM while still maintaining good traffic.
Conclusion:
Definitely has some serious promise as a traffic source! Especially because competition is VERY low, I'm going to probably try some new offers/landing pages and niches down the road.

do they offer advertising in the us only or also for other countries like CA,UK,DE?

Yep, sorry forgot to mention that campaign was targeted to the US. They have a LOT of countries, i just don't know how much volume per country (they don't say). Alexa.com (fileserve.com) would be the best bet for that

Hmm, this looks like it has promise. Since it's new, hopefully they add CTR into it because that's seems frustrating to me. Do they even tell you how many people clicked on the ad?
and lol @ using that first picture

i think there is definitively potential platform..the only downside is, that it's "warez" traffic which doesn't convert too well..but with the right offer it could work

I had a feeling those were your ads. :P
I submit some feedback/suggestions a few days ago and they assigned me an account manager. Here are some new features I requested that they will be implementing soon (NO ETA):
- CPC bidding
- Display clicks
- Display CTR
- Edit the ad name
- Batch pause/resume multiple ads

doey anybody now what benefit the "language" targeting has? for example i've setup a german ad an selected germany as country...what would be the benfit to also select "german" as langauge

@nusolutionz
If it works like it suggests, I assume it would only display to people who speak German, and not to anybody else who speaks any other language.

@nusolutionz sounds good, i'm interested to know! Yep the warez traffic is a downside, but it converted quite well i'd say.
@Mugga They don't tell you clicks or CTR lol, it's mind boggling. The girl is the first pic = <3 (is she someone well known?)
@Jay lol you saw the ads on fileserve?
Cool, i got an account manager too, didn't even think to ask her those questions

Oh didn't know this either, i just checked:
shows: Suggested bid range: CPM $4.60 - $5.20
So you could prob lower that to roughly $1.50 - $2.00 CPM.
What popped up for you, and did it pop up over every other window you had opened?

It popped a big (almost full screen) landing page
onclick when I downloaded a file. It didnt pop-up, it popped-under.

Those pops are from Adoori.

Adoori traffic has been very shitty for me. Spent about $500 there, tested loads of offers, only 3 conversions. LOL

did anybody manage to get a campaign profitable on AdServe? I'm still testing some campaigns but without knowing the ctr it's a pain in the ass..

@jinz: I agree about Adoori. I've spent $250 there on 5 offers and got 6 conversions total. Not quite as bad as yours, but not great.

Doesn't seem like

Yeah but this just counts for your campaign. Your creative is probably still saying "under review". Btw. mine just got disapproved with this reason:
This ad has been rejected
Reason: Inappropriate Product Type (Hi, we don't accept "Adult Content", thanks!)
In order to run this ad again, please edit and resubmit your ad.
Probably time for another offer then, lol

I have yet to find something that is profitable on Adserve. Their prices are just too high, I'm afraid.

@cygnus
I know Besmir has had profitable campaigns on Adserve, I've broken even in dating last week. I have 2 more campaigns im trying in the next 2 weeks, and I'll make a thread documenting everything. I've heard decent things of the popups/unders too

That sounds interesting. Looking forward to your posts. And perhaps Besmir can spill some beans?

Arg new ads disapproved also since the lander contains an exit-pop. I just resubmitted them using my own small landing page. Let's see!

Have you been able to repeat your success on Adserve?
Do you think there will be new threads about it?

I haven't ran any larger tests recently, but i did run a quick dating campaign in Australia and it was slightly profitable by direct linking with no optimization at all. I tossed it because lack of volume. Wouldnt spend more than $20/day.
The CPM across all countries seem to be similar for whatever reason, so i'd stick with the US and other countries they have a lot of traffic for. Check alexa.com to see their top countries.
I'd go with offers targeted to general population or males. For anyone who has experience with dating i'm very sure adserve can be cracked to make a good amount of profit in the right countries.

Ever tried ghostery plugin?
Shows you "bugs" on a page - lists things that are installed like Google Analytics, other analytics, and also ad servers.
So for example, if I go to usatoday.com, it shows:
http://screencast.com/t/IGltLBiw
Helpful in finding what ad networks serve ads where you're looking...

actually, I just found out about it like 2 weeks ago and I've been loving it! I thought it would be semi-annoying, but it's not at all

I'm just leaving the popup menu on for awhile - it doesn't bother me much at all. It's really helping me understand which media companies are where, and do what.
Pretty funny considering it was made for the people who are scared for their privacy and want to know who is tracking them. LOL
