Gambling Apps; DraftKing’s Temporary Removal from Google Play?

Gambling apps such as FanDuel and DraftKings are hot for marketers.

But around October 13, 2015, DraftKings’s app was removed from Google play store. According to an official DraftKing statement, it’s only “temporary.” But as of today (October 26, 2015), nothing has changed yet.

This “temporary” issue means a lot of missed revenues for the company and affiliates.

Lots of affiliates are focusing on FanDuel now.

Facebook definitely hates gambling apps, but …

1. FB seems to allow you to build fan pages (like Fantasy Play pages).
2. Some gambling apps run a few days before they are removed and we can steal some ideas:

2.1. Sweet spot is male age 35-44.
2.2. We can take ad copy ideas and images

These two offers are getting more difficult to find as both companies are under scrutiny. A few days ago Nevada decided to ban them (not them specifically but ruled that daily fantasy sports companies are gambling operators) and label them as unlicensed gambling. There are fears it wont be the last state to ban them.

There is no doubt these two are getting more an more popular but at the same time (and probably for the same reason) they are stepping on other "old school" companies toes.

The companies themselves are claiming they are not games of luck but are games of skill.

As I said, no doubt they are popular and can make you a lot of money, but it is interesting to see how big of a hit (if any) they will take in the near future.

An underutilized feature on Make Massive is the ability to search for Google playstore and Apple app store apps.

Type in the app id in the search bar to find offers for that app, for example if you type in "com.fanduel" you will get 2 options "com.fanduel.android.live" and "com.fanduel.android.self"

com.fanduel.android.self

com.fanduel.android.live
