As many of you know, Instagram support has been enabled for the majority of ad accounts and I'm sure everyone is trying to milk this new traffic source for all it's worth while you still can.
So in the spirit of helping those of you who are interested in this new traffic source: Here is a dump of one of our internal tools our company uses that breaks down the top 25 countries in terms of population, current price (in CPM's), and historical price (so you can see which countries are cheap to advertise in right now, how much volume you can expect on IG in each country, etc).
The historical price range I used for these screenshots is 3 days. That means that the current price is the live unadulterated price in FB's actual system right now, and the historical price is the price it was at 3 days ago. You can see that since the source is so new, the pricing is highly erratic and all over the place -- in other words... many times the whole auction system can't get an accurate CPM because the basic requirements for a successful auction aren't being met. This is a great opportunity for anyone trying to take advantage of the platform right now.
Here is the list in descending order by population for Android phones worldwide:

If this type of information is useful to you, let me know! We are actually thinking about potentially letting some STM members try out our tool if people find it useful, but we still have to set a date for the beta test if there's sufficient interest
Tim is dropping bomb again!
You're a champ.
Thanks a lot.
Insame data!
Thanks man!
Thanks amigo - Can't say no to free data!
Nice! Sharing is caring
On a related note, FB just updated their Instagram ads API to allow offsite conversions as an objective to optimise for, which is exactly what affiliate marketers generally want.
There are some interesting new ad formats like Action based ads and Marquee ads which is limited to one advertiser per day and can drive some massive impressions. Minimum spend restrictions have also been removed so it is easier to test out now for smaller budgets.
So is FB the only place I can get into Instagram from?
Nice Share. i was thinking this days to try out instagram ads, and this will come in handy! Thanks
During one of the panels at AWA BKK one of the speakers said that advertising on instagram is great for sharing, getting likes and user engagement but that it doesn't work for CPI/CPL/CPA campaigns. Great engagement, no conversions.
Anyone here share that experience or have some data to back this up or contradict this?
I have seen Instagram working really good for app installs and Fashion merchandise selling
Interesting.
I have seen some great app install campaigns in AU, so there's definately potential.
