Follow along and help me CRUSH mobile pin offers!

Hello everyone!

So ill make a long story short and catch everyone up.

This past month and a half I have been trying to crush mobile pin submits on an iphone offer.

Getting decent payout $4+
Tested about 3 different landing page angles (spied and see what everyone else was doing and got help from my manager to give me more landing pages)
tested a bunch of variations of those landing pages.
now im down to one landing page and testing that.
I'm bidding around 0.005 right now (is this too high? if I dip lower than 0.004 my traffic tends to slow down a lot)

Problem is... I'm still not even close to breaking even. I'm testing about 25-50$ per day and for the life of me I can't seem to get consistent conversion rates. I'm tracking everything in Voluum so I dropped a bunch of non converting websites, but no matter what I do my conversion rate stays the same. My ctr is pretty good (well a lot better than what it use to be). My best lander was around 1% CTR but had good conversion rate. Now I'm up to 10% CTR but conversion rate has stayed the same (Still not good enough to get me profitable, im at about -50% ROI right now).

I don't really know what to do next. I've even tested a landing page that wasnt compliant and flat out did the whole "get your free iphone" approach just to see if conversions would improve... They didn't. I've only tested 3 offers so far across 2 networks, but they all are pretty consistent in stats so I don't think the offer is the problem.

So now I'm kind of stuck. I'm seeing all the same type of landing pages everywhere, but I must be missing something because I've tested similar or even exact landing pages and don't even come close to breaking even.

So I'm reaching out here and seeing if anyone can give me a tip on what I can test next.

Thanks guys!

I am using pop traffic

I was told pop traffic will work so I was fighting to make it work. You brought up a lot of great points.

One more thing. I noticed most of of my conversions have come from tablets. Like 80% of my conversions. Is that bad? I kind of want to blacklist it, but looking at the second highest converting device is apple iphone and it converts slightly worse than tablet traffic!

Also wifi traffic takes up about 95% of traffic and conversions. But the EPV is not good at all in the overall stats. Should I drop this too? My only fear is I will have literally no traffic volume to play with if I do this.

Well I dropped tablets. Kept wifi and carrier because I was getting almost no traffic without wifi.

Here are my stats so far today after testing some new stuff on my LP.

416 clicks
1 conversion
$15.00 spent
$4.13 earned.
-$10.87

The good news and the bad news...

Good news is the changes on my LP are giving me a pretty good CTR over 13%.

Bad news is it doesn't seem to be converting very well.

I don't really get it. The landers I've used before with really low CTR but higher CR's aren't all that different from this one... I'm not using any exit redirects for increased ctr so the CTR gain was legit from split testing things on my landing page. So how can a huge increase of activity on my lander lead to nothing on the backend? When my shitty CTR landers get more conversions for some reason?

I need to find some sort of middle ground here. If I could just get a steady 1% Conversion rate with these stats I would be breaking even or even profting just a little bit. My other low ctr lander had 15% CR! Ahhh what could I be missing???

Your data size is small due to that payout of your offer. You will need to spend at least 3X offer payout per lander to choose the best lander.

You will need to spend same on the three offers to choose the best offer.

If 3x offer payout still is not giving you a 90% confidence level you need to test further to choose the winning lander/offer.

Are you using intro pop, exit pop, calling out variables etc? IF NOT you need to start doing that.

Well yesterday I had a major DOH moment...

For some reason my lander wasn't passing variables. To be honest I never really knew how they worked and I'm use to the old maxmind scripts from the old day that you just plug in and it does its own thing. Well I finally fixed that problem and the results are very promising!

143 clicks
5 conversions
$20.65 earned
$16.30 spent
Profit $4.35

My first real day of profit! Unfortunately I couldn't really do a full days test because my funds weren't approved for most of the day.

Now to some bad news...

I had deposited $100 in adcash awhile back and I blew $50 the first day I was on there (they don't have a daily limit under $50!?) and only had 1 conversion. Well I left the remaining $50 in there and kind of forgot about it. Well based on todays results I decided to fire the campaign back up. The results aren't so good there...

108 clicks
0 conversions
$10 spent.
-$10 loss

Anyone know if the adcash tokens are coded like this? {site} because it's not passing anything to Voluum for me to track.

Try to run mobile pin submit campaigns on email marketing (dedicated email campaign to opt-in db), Facebook/GDN (blackhat) or exit traffic on sweepstakes. That will work better.

I might try that later down the line, but right now im pretty close to a breakthrough here so I'm not going to give up on this yet.

Anyone have a proper back button redirect and not just a regular exit redirect? I think I had another dumb moment when I put an exit popup on my page thinking it would help CTR... well I think it did, but it may have messed with my conversions because anyone who wanted to follow through to the offer was also seeing the exit popup telling them not to leave. So I took it off for now until I can find a proper back button redirect and not just a general exit popup.

Also if I can include both an exit popup and back button redirect script that would be awesome, but is there a way to stop the exit popup from showing up if the user clicks on the CTA?
