Critique my banners (5)

10-22-2015 05:13 PM #1 victor s (AMC Alumnus)

I'll be honest, I was being a lazy bum when I made those banners. I don't know what the fuck I was thinking when I made them, I thought that since there are still lots of people uploading banners in that same format (image left, text right) I could somehow make it work for me. I'm gonna work on coming up with a different angle and making the banners look better. I'll try and upload them tonight.

But I would like to get some feedback on the ad-copy. Was I going in the right direction with the ad-copy? Did I over do it? Title's to long? Any feedback on the ad-copy would be immensely appreciated!

Thanks again!

Hello Victor,

I would suggest you to create more precise banners: insert less text while using a powerful picture and a very clear Call for action.
When you use the right image, the more you add text the more users can lose focus and not click through.

Moreover, from my point of view as a girl, less is more and more is less. Aim to use less explicit images, just like in the Offer page: it insinuates the act, making you to use your creativity and imagine the rest. You don't have to show everything from the very beginning, get the user so curious from seeing your banners so he will take the next step and then the other one...

Good luck with your campaigns!

Cheers,
ilana

I'm with ilana - less text.

As for the angle itself - it would depend on how many guys like blowjobs enough to click on your banner.

Orange text doesn't stand out, and the grey CTA buttons don't help either. When testing new banners try to stay with safe colors. White background with black/red/blue text, or black background with white/yellow text. Pretty doesn't sell. Ugly often does. And easy-to-read will almost always help! And make the CTA a bright noticeable color!

Try shorter headlines because people have short attention spans. e.g.:

"Want head?"
"SHE wants to blow YOU!"
"Wife not giving head?"

As for the rest of the banner text, I found that bullet points worked best, but I haven't done adult in a while so you'll have to test that. Again, people's attention spans are short so don't make them read sentences. Bullet points and short phrases is the way to go.

Keep testing angles. For adult, landers don't change that much that fast. Just rip all the ones you see the most often in the wild and go with the best, then focus on testing banners. Keep testing new angles and headlines. If you don't have a banner-testing strategy, you can steal mine and improve on it:

Sure you'll want to keep testing landers again at some point, but I'd suggest to test banners first until you have some decent ones, then make variations of your best lander and test those. Can also make landers that reflect the banner angle you've had the most success with. Always test the element that you think can potentially bring you the biggest ROI increase at any point in time. If you formulate your test strategy around this principle you can't go too far wrong.

Have fun testing!

Have you done any spying on how other people are promoting this offer? The STM adult spy's easy to use, and should give you some great insights on what's working right now.

@affiliaxeilana - @vortex - @caurmen.

Thank you guys for your reply. Completely forgot about this post I made, sorry for late reply. ;p

Like I mentioned in my top post this was my first attempt at creating banners. Looking back at my banners above I think I did a terrible effin job at it, lmao. I was just learning how to use photoshop and didn't know what exactly to do. I'm now better at photoshop at have been making a lot better banners. Your photoshop tutorial helped a lot, @vortex, thank you.

@Caurmen - At the time of creating these banners I didn't know about the STM adult spy tool. I also didn't have access to any other spy tool out there. I just worked on my banners blindly, big mistake that I know realized.

Just to clarify, I didn't run these banners on a live campaign, I only made them for feedback from you guys here in the forum.

Now that I have experience with running campaigns and creating better banners, I can see that the feedback Ilana & Amy gave me was very true.

Less text is better, different designs on banners when first testing, clearer CTA's and use decent colors, and test like a mofo!

Thanks again, Ilana, Amy & Caurmen.
