FTC and Affiliate Disclosures on LP's?

I keep seeing affiliates getting slammed with HUGE fines from the FTC because they aren't disclosing they are an affiliate. Does anyone have any advice as to what's required by the FTC for a mobile landing page?

It's my understanding that the disclosure needs to be visible on the page, preferably the first thing. I've also read that no action should be required to see the disclosure, which to me would mean that you need a short paragraph at the Top of your lander and not a hyperlink.

Do you have affiliate disclosures on your LP's? It it really needed or am I just making a big deal out of nothing again?

Can someone provide an example of one?

They aren't really directly related to not having an affiliate disclosure, but there are lots of examples on FTC.gov. I don't want a xxx,xxx fine.

There were also several examples in my recent affiliate marketing class at school.

I'm just wondering what type of disclosure needs to be on your landing pages? Is a footer hyperlink good? Does it need to be the first thing on the page? Does it need to be right next to the CTA?

I think that the FTC rules you're referring to apply only to product endorsements. This is not something that you have to worry about as an affiliate unless your marketing campaign includes an endorsement via a testimonial, review, ranking, etc.

Here's an overview of the guidelines:
The FTC’s Endorsement Guides: What People Are Asking

Note this statement by the FTC:

The issue is – and always has been – whether the audience understands the reviewer’s relationship to the company whose products are being recommended. If the audience understands the relationship, a disclosure isn’t needed.
