False starts and a new beginning

Hey everyone!

Honestly, I'm not really sure how to start this thing out. *I guess I'll go with a little background, and go from there. *Long story short, I've been half-assing my way in affiliate marketing for long enough. *If you've been doing the same, maybe I can help motivate you a bit and you can join me in finally going all in.

CAUTION - Feels ahead. *Head down to /allthesefeels to skip em.

I've been dabbling in affiliate marketing on and off for a few years, never really taking it seriously. *Made a few bucks here and there, had a couple*profitable campaigns a while back, but for quite some time I*haven't really had anything take off. *If I'm being honest though, that's 100% a lack of effort on my part. *I'm not sure why really. *I've seen people having successes left and right, and I'm not a huge*fan of the day job, though it is easy. *Maybe it's part being just comfortable,*part laziness, part being scared of losing money, part being scared of failing and feeling like an idiot...I don't know. *For extra cash*I've always been able to fall back on small biz websites, which I don't really like doing anyway. *Looking back, I've wasted so much time just spinning my wheels and not really attempting to improve my situation to the degree I could. *I've spent a lot of money on tools like spy tools, forum memberships, courses, software, apps, trackers and so on in order to feel like I'm making an effort. *Like I was part of something bigger and better than the "9-5." *A few half-assed campaigns and false starts later, here I am with nothing to show for it.*

So in order to give myself a kick and spark of motivation, I changed my scenery a bit. *My wife and I sold most of our stuff, packed a couple of bags and moved down to Playa del Carmen, MX for a few months. *Of course, the way I had it going in my mind and the way that it actually played out were a bit different, so now I'm in the unenviable position of having to make something happen within a relatively short time. *That's what this thread is for. *Part journal, part follow along and having a public place to keep me accountable. I’m not really the kind of person that puts myself out there with follow-allongs or anything like that, and it took me more time than it should have just to get this out there!

/allthesefeels

Let's see...I suppose that brings me to where I'm at now. *As I said before, I do have the basics of getting a campaign going. **I've already got access to some spy tools, Voluum, a VPS, a CDN, graphics programs,*a bit of money across a few traffic sources, and accounts at 5 or 6 affiliate networks. *I'll have to get in touch with my affiliate managers there and hope they are willing to give me another chance

So I've been going through the spy tools for ideas, looking at the top offer emails that I get from the networks, and re-reading the emails from affiliate managers. *The biggest thing that I'm seeing is still sweeps being run hard. *From what I can tell though, most of the pages I see in spy tools and manually checking apps are very non-compliant. *Obviously these are cloaked, but damn, how can you even compete with some of these pages on those sources if you aren't cloaking? *Same seems to go for AV/utilities. *

As you might have gathered, I have a fair amount of analysis paralysis going on here. *I know that I need to settle down and focus, so picking a vertical, source and offer(s) is what I'll be doing asap. *I still have some funds in some pop traffic sources, so I'll probably start there with sweeps and see if I can get something profitable without being too shady since I don't have my cloaking game proper.

I do currently have a day job, so I can't dedicate all day to working on this stuff just yet, but I'll spend a minimum of 3-4 hours a day on it without fail.

If you made it through that, thanks for reading. *Feels good (and kinda bad, haha) to get that all out there. *I’m excited to see where it goes from here.

I am excited to see how this will go. By the way, is it just me or the way you write is very hard to understand?
