Do you guys still test an offer your AM recommended with DL before LP? (9)

Do you guys still test an offer your AM recommended with DL before LP?

So I just got a bunch of new offers from my AM and I'm debating if I should just invest time and $$$ into building landers, or if I should spend 10x payout and direct link it until I see a conversion?

I guess it depends how good and how trustworthy your AM is in the end, but I wanted to hear what you guys think. What do you guys usually do?

I guess people work in different ways but I would always test 50% DL and 50% LP no matter what.

If we aren't talking about a massive test then it shouldn't take you more than a 10-20 minutes to prepare the new landing pages (assuming you already have images you want to use). So there's no point in not testing them as they can be your winners. What I do is have a standard template for my landers and just replace text and image quickly, upload and it's good to go.

I made a similar thread about this a few days ago as I wanted others to critique my strat for quick testing. After a lot of solid advice, I ended up choosing to quick test 1-2 banner sizes, 1 traffic source with 3-4 angles and a lander for each angle. Assuming I have all images and text translated, setting this up and running it will take me an hour tops.

Hey 1jilliondollars,

Yeah I saw that thread!

Very interesting because I am also looking to systematize my launch process. I guess I might trying too hard and make my LPs too complex and too aggressive, so I think to myself "It'll take a lot of time and work, so it better be worth my time".

Gah, I hate this logic, I wish I could get rid of it lol.

I have the same logic but it's not effective if you're a one man army and need to test things quickly.

The complexity and aggressiveness will kick in once your campaign start hitting green. Until you get there though... Keep thinga simple. That's what i know so far

How can I split test banners, Do we need to build the complete campaign ( Banner+Landing Page + Direct Link) or split test only the banners ( if we place banners only with out connecting LP and offer page then how can we track number of clicks of the banner ? ) ?

Most places I read say that a landing page makes a huge difference. It really isn't that difficult to make a landing page, it can be something simple, you can find lots of templates here on the forum.

Do a very simple lander in Photoshop, compress the image file and just use that. That's the quickest to mass to test offers with little coding experience.
Or if you have a little more time, create a blank page template/quiz template with some headline text and a next style button that changes for every offer.

I completely see where you're coming from because I used to feel the same way - that maybe I could save a lot of time by just DL to a bunch of offers, seeing which ones have promise, then building landing pages for just those.

The only flaw with this reasoning is that some types of offers will just not work without a lander....so that their NOT doing well for DL doesn't mean they're bad offers!

On the other hand, there are offers that can be profitable with DL alone. They're just few and far between.

How much effort to spend on scoping out an offer is not an easy thing to decide. If it's an evergreen niche that you're trying to break into, then you better be willing to give 100% until you crack the code. If it's a one-off one-of-a-kind app install offer, you'd probably not want to waste too much time testing it. It's all about finding a balance you're comfortable with I guess.
