filtering out bots

how do you handle to filter out traffic sources that have many bots ( i am talking especially dsp)? those sources have generally too high ctr%, but you risk to filter out those placements that have many misclicks but are still coming from real people. Do you look at the combo too high ctr% and no clicks on your prelander? And after how much spending do you start filtering the placement with bots? 3x cpa as usual?

I think everyone has their own rule of thumb for this, but a good start would be to see what the average range of CTR is for other placements. So for example if your lander's getting 30-60%+ CTR on average and you see a placement that's doing 3%, you'd probably want to cut that whether or not bots are the cause.
