My first time FB + Aff. Marketing - First try - First Success

Hi guys, my name is Marko, I am 20 years old and this is my first follow along thread and my officially first time starting with Affiliete Marketing and Facebook Ads.

However I previously worked in a friends company for a salary making Facebook Ads, and I know a thing or two about it, that's why I am now starting to make money on my own with Aff Links. And I also had my own Incentive stuff.

Enjoy, I will try to keep it updated every day.

- 6:30 AM
Picked up an offer from ClickDealer - Single Opt In offer paying around a $1 per action.
Did some research for it, gathered data from Facebook Insights.

-8:00 AM
Made a landing page with Adobe Muse, made some artwork with Photoshop for images etc.

-1:00 PM
Launched a Facebook Ad for the LP with my custom audience, to test relevancy score, this method doesn't work for optimizing only for testing the audience. The score was perfect 10/10

-6:19 PM
Campaign end with the following stats:

Spent: $4.19
Received: $10.50
ROI: around 110% (I have no idea how to calculate ROI, here we called it a coefficient of investment, how much times the investment you've made)

CTR: 17.3% (Engagements)
Clicks to website: 20
Potential Reach: 1.1 million
EPC of Offer: $0.50

Things to do tomorrow:
*Since relevancy was good, now I move on Phase 2: Creating 10 campaigns in order to achieve my minimum of $0.07/ per click and scale further.

Why not spend more money on this campaign?

Well a couple of reasons:
*Offer owner requires some of the landing page text to be changed, I don't have the time to do that now.
*This campaign gives me like $0.20 to $0.30 cpc, I pay per engagements and test to see if the targeting is done right. I can easily make a $0.07- $0.11 tomorrow.
*I don't have enough money on my card, this is just a $5 campaign to test

Congratulations!
Do you use cloaker?

10-08-2015 07:27 PM #6 pronewbie (Member)

Cool

Are you cloaking or white hat completely?

10-08-2015 09:04 PM #7 markohf (Member)

Well hmm it's a leadgen so someone here wrote they don't cause much trouble, if I scale it high I will cloak it of course.

Spent: $4.19
Received: $10.50

in less than 24h for a newbie is not too bad of a start! Keep it up!

What is your strategy for upscaling from current volumes to +1K a day?

-9AM
Aff Manager told me on Skype that the current advertisers don't want to run that offer. Fine by me, I found another offer that pays better and is better, so I am back with my $10 a day testing since it's a new offer

-1PM
Campaign started. However the stats weren't as I expected (0.9% CTR on Clicks) but the price is still $0.25 even if it's just the beginning of the day. I can make this lower but I am afraid to put aggressive ad copies on Facebook. Had some serious problem with them. Waiting for 4PM to come to see my stats for this campaign.

-2:33PM
Spent $4.11 but received $3.40. Campaign is not going so well, since I am not sure if the new offer is having problems or not, I will go back to phase 1 at 4PM and test again.

-2:46PM
Spent $5.72 but received $5.11. Game of Ads . Too bad offer EPC drops to $0.32, but I have something in mind that will even get better.

-4:35PM
Spent $10 but received $6.80. It's a disaster lol. Launching another test campaign.

-5:03PM
Waiting for additional changes to ad. Probably will be done by 6

-5:33PM
New ad set, starts at 6 ends at 10. This ad has the same statistics as the first one.

-6:58PM
Campaign stats are not bad, probably gonna wait till the end of the campaign to check stats.

-8:24PM
Campaign stats are even better than before. But still haven't checked any earning statistics. Campaign ends on 10PM. I will post stats around that time. I already have some optimization techniques in mind .

-12:12AM
Again ended with a lost - $10 spent $7 returned. I guess I either got lucky or the previous offer was better. Oh well, another offer then

Well, I am currently still in my testing phase. I need to optimize the max I can, then I can invest. And I am not trying to scale to +1k a day as I don't have the investment money to invest 1K a day to get 1K a day profit.

Campaigns die out over time, that's why you need to scale fast and take all the profits you can before it dies out. I understand your funds are still limited, but once they grow (and I know they will after reading you are doing a great job), next time upscale it fast and take the margin before the campaign gets either saturated or you get outbid by a superaffiliate who gets a higher payout than you

Right well once I get a stable ROI I will try to invest more, the max I can .

Oct 17th
Did some campaign optimization and managed to lower the cost by half, maybe even more we will see. I launched one campaign for $5 that will end in 24 hours, I will see the result then. See ya tomorrow at 4:43 CET

17th October

10-18-2015 09:26 AM #16 markohf (Member)

18th October

11:26 AM - Launched the campaign from 1 PM to 9 PM. Optimization part is done, price should be lower this time. I will post results when the campaign ends at 9PM. I might even post them before since I am more curios.

4:54 PM - Had to check the stats lol:

Invested: $3.76
Returned: $6.80

The problem is this. All your data is relatively meaningless without statistical relevance. You're on the right track but really have to spend to get the data needed to make determinations. Otherwise it's all just how luck is swinging that day.

Still testing , trying to see what gives me the most Relavancy score, the best age to use on the ad, which type of ad. When I have everything ready I will begin to scale

You should be spending more per ad interest combo. The relevancy score will be high if your audience likes your ad. In other words if interest targeting matches your audience your relevancy score will be high.
