Are you frustrated with reading that some marketers get 5% - 20% CTR's on FB?
Well, I am. It annoys me like hell as I don't achieve them by any means.
So I asked a top FB advertiser today. Here's what he gets on AVERAGE:
Desktop Newsfeed: 2.50%-3.00%
Right Hand-Column: 0.15%-0.20%
Mobile Newsfeed: 2.75%-3.75%
I know, I know, average numbers are tricky.
But at least I get a feeling whether I'm totally below or above "average."
Hope that helps.
franco12 do you think that for high CTR on FB (eg. >2.50%) is crucial the right targeting and relevant ad-message? I think that for broad audience it's really hard to achieve 3% CTR.
depends on targeting. My sick Mobile Newsfeed does around 10%...but funny enough my accounts gets hammered although I run white hat
Hey Mr App,
I believe you simply have to "nail" your audience, independently of whether its narrow or broad targeting.
NARROW AUDIENCE:
I've recently run an ad to a 2k audience with a CTR of 4% and CPC of $1.00
BROAD AUDIENCE:
I personally define a broad audience on FB as >1m, but I have no experience it that field.
But a mass-market ad with broad appeal + celeb targeting can get you high CTR's as well
From my experience 2.75%-3.75% is achievable with broad targeting i.e. only demographic like age, gender if you choose right creative and broad offer.
So I believe that with narrow targeting it would go higher to 5-10% but no enough experience here.
It depends on what are you running. I achieved 20% ctr on viral campaigns, 3-5% for campaigns like Antivirus or sweepstakes. The campaigns are way different and with different types of epc & revenue
