My First... Probiotics VSL on Content.ad

Hey guys… this is my very first follow along so I will do my best on creating a specific format to follow. Any and all feedback, comments & advice will be much appreciated.

Here’s what’s up…

I finally got my ads and campaign approved to run today on Content.ad. I am advertising a diet trial. I have have never advertised on this traffic source successfully… but I thought I would give it another try… the first time was very short period and I did not have the tracking set up right so I stopped the campaign until I could get everything set up the correct way. I am pretty excited to get it going to see what happens.

Network: http://nutryst.com/
Traffic Source: http://content.ad
Offer: Probiotic
Lander Style: VSL
Tracker: http://Voluum.com/
Cloaker Used: none… Direct linking to white hat video sales landing page

I did do some research beforehand and tried to find the best ads to run for this offer. I used http://mobileadscout.com http://nativeadbuzz.com/ and http://www.whatrunswhere.com for some ideas and here are the ads that I am also fortunate enough to be a part of John Crestani’s Nutra In House Media Buying Team in which he provides great examples of past campaigns that he and his team have run successfully.

I ended up with only one ad. The other 5 were rejected. ( I am going to submit some more ads without the text to see if they will get approved)

Approved ad and headline:

Headline: Coffee: Killing Your Gut for Energy – Dr. Nelson Explains

Rejected Ads:

Attachment 8586

Rejected image ad reasons:

1. Restricted terms in headline: The headline uses sensational terms that are not allowed in this context (i.e. "shocking," "tricks," "weird").;Image contains text or graphics: The image contains a text element (either photographed or graphical), or graphic elements (illustrations, arrows, borders, or video "play" buttons).

2. Other: celeb doc in image

3. Image contains text or graphics: The image contains a text element (either photographed or graphical), or graphic elements (illustrations, arrows, borders, or video "play" buttons).

Reason why I like this ad image and I think it is going to work? The skull and crossbones generate curiosity and I think people would want to find out more about what the Dr is talking about.

Reason why I like the headline? I know this might only get the attention of coffee drinkers but it has been proven to work so I am going to give it a shot. (also the person reading the ad may not drink coffee but they probably know someone who does.

Targeting

Unfortunately on content.ad you cannot target demographics so we will see how it goes.

I do have the choice of running on desktops, tablets or mobile. I chose to run this campaign on desktop only.

Bidding:

I set my bid at $0.49 CPC… I decided on that bid because that was midway between what content.ad recommended to get max exposure.

Budget:

$50 Per Day

I’m not sure how this campaign is going to preform but I guess only time and money will tell.

Again guys any comments and suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Terry
