Pull my banners to bits! Please. (9)

Pull my banners to bits! Please.

So i have a follow along going at the moment, and in it i'm having trouble getting anything that's converting, even remotely decent. Im only looking to find a decent -75% ROI banner.

Im just looking for where im going wrong with these, i have shit like this:

Name:	Magic-Rush-6-(BR).gif
Views:	106
Size:	16.6 KB
ID:	8582

And this:

Name:	Magic-Rush-4-(BR).gif
Views:	81
Size:	16.4 KB
ID:	8581

And even this basic little bastard:

Name:	Magic-Rush1-(BR).gif
Views:	83
Size:	14.2 KB
ID:	8580

I then started a second round of banners based on misleading information, like:

Name:	Magic-Rush-8-(br).gif
Views:	79
Size:	16.2 KB
ID:	8583 (Targeting dem pervs!)

and even imitation notifications like:

Name:	Magic-Rush-9-(br).gif
Views:	66
Size:	9.9 KB
ID:	8584

everything is running at like 0.02 CRT ....you heard me.

All translations done by 1hourtrans so should be solid.

Pull them to bits, rip em to shreads, i can take it, please, give me a lesson in how not to be wank with banners.

Many thanks

Tom

PS. I have also been trying to find a guide i stumbled upon by Zeno about game banner ad images but i cant find it for love nor money, any direction would make me happy.

i maybe wrong but...try playing the game and take some screenshots, you will get much better quality pictures

It's not so much about quality, some of these are form the game that i have spent a couple of hours testing, the banner size is only 320x50 pixels, quality is hard to find, some are also set to restrictive to make them the right size.

This is more about content and angle, i'm working the angles hard now, this post was more a mental brain fart than being a constructive human being.

Community input appreciated as always.

Where are your running the banners? The bad click through might be more a problem of bad placement than bad banners.

Finding matching traffic for your offers is an early challenge. I'm by no means a gaming expert but:

1. Gaming is quite big but not everyone will play everything. You can split it in genres and you have individual niches.
2. They sell with visual queues, not text.
3. Decisive is not a great traffic source generally.. It doesn't allow granular reports and doesn't have that many features to spread out traffic when you are just testing out placements.

Hope it helps!

Manu.

Yeah gaming is a tough one to promote on DSPs. I wouldn't recommend it.

Take a step back and looking what you are competing against for the same traffic. You are competing with pin submits, sweepstakes, and generic utility apps. Those will convert better against a game unless you have game related targeting. If they convert better, they can bid higher, so you are playing a losing game!

If you did want to stick to gaming, I would recommend purely focusing on making creatives with a focus on CTR. Design for generic call to action based creatives (play buttons etc). Make sure you only bid CPM.

Thank you for your advice, i do want to stick with this and i want to make it work for me, i have a lot of experience in mobile games and games in general, i like to think if i can make and of them work it would have to be this one (to start with).

Ill keep you posted on how it goes

Tom
