iOS 9 is here and so are ad blockers, feeling it?

So out of curiosity has anybody noticed any difference in their stats yet? Ad blockers hit top 5 in AppStore right away so if anybody is doing early adopter niches like tech it would be interesting to hear some experiences.

Some behind the scenes action going on. Peace ad blocker pulled from AppStore because the creator (who owns ad network The Deck) "doesn't feel right"... CNET also blocked access to content from people using iOS blockers. But if you are doing mobile, stick with native ads and you don't need to worry about this.

I've been keeping an eye on our iOS inventory levels out of curiousity...definitely an impact, but I don't think it's time to claim the "the sky is falling". I think this is probably just another incentive for publishers/the industry to move more towards native ads.

Our total daily iOS inventory is presented in the attached graph...

I personally do not feel the ad blocking, but there is something else I noticed:

If you run app install offers that are not directly in App Store (similar to Androids APKs), then there is a daily drop in CRs.
The reason is that in iOS 9 the user cannot open the downloaded app because he gets: "Untrusted Enterprise Developer" message. He needs to do extra steps in settings to allow that.

Just copying from another post I made, on same topic:

Interested in opinions on how you view the industry changing in the next 5 years, in the face of Ad delivery adapting/ changing, and how you intend to adapt your approach. My food for thought is these articles:

http://www.theverge.com/2015/9/17/93...ath-of-the-web

Reading the above, I wish I'd sat at the "Email" table at the STM LONDON Brunch (those Email marketing Gurus John Alanis, _mcr_ must be wetting themselves!)

Questions that came up in my Newbie mind:

Is the new iOS software really doom for Ads?
> reading above, I guess it's "No", rather switch from Banner to native?

Are Social content sites going to control the majority of ad-spend? - does Ad Blocking push web content onto these platforms?

What are good resources to learn more about "native ads"... I need to get sneaky before others do!

If I'm building a business now, to be of significant value in 2-3 years, where is my focus, what am I thinking about now, that I wasn't before ?

Those links are 404. As it relates to ad blocking I think a collective effort with major sites detecting ios9 and denying content will help push back at it.

It's no picnic there either. Email is losing ground to instant messaging, platforms eager to get a piece of the pie by limiting external emails like Gmail and centralized systems like Facebook. At the moment email remains as a great way to reach out to your list but I predict that in few short years email marketers will see a lot more inactivity, especially in the younger markets simply because people don't check their emails anymore. Companies are switching to communication systems like Slack in order to fight the inefficiency of email as a communication channel. So even that introduction to email as a communication channel is getting chopped away.

I've seen this with one of my businesses - the entire (younger, tech-savvy) demographic appears to basically ignore their email altogether.

I still like lists a lot, but yeah, the goal's moving there too.

One more thing you may noticed if you have iOS 9 is that now there is 1 more step to install an app:

Before after clicking to CTA you were simply redirected to App Store.

Now there is an system alert that asks you that if you actually want to open the app in App Store.

I bet this will take the CR down rapidly and it will be just a matter of time when Google/Android apply this to their system as well.
