Hey STMers, this is actually my first follow along so I will do my best on creating a good format to follow. Any feedback, comments & advice would be much appreciated
The Low Down...
I just launched a campaign yesterday on Revcontent advertising Diet Trials. I have had some pretty good success on this traffic source in the past pushing diet (I've done just a little over $30K profit) and am going to start pushing traffic here again so I am pretty excited to get it going and start making some more money.
Network: http://nutryst.com/
Traffic Source: http://revcontent.com/
Offers: Multiple Garcinia's offers
Lander Style: Advertorial
Tracker: http://Voluum.com/
Cloaker Used: http://justcloakit.com/
So first thing I did was research my angle/ad using http://nativeadbuzz.com/ and browsing Google for some ideas and this here is the ad that I came up with.

I typically like to test 2-4 ads at once, but I am highly confident that this ad/angle is going to work well. I have a friend who ran a similar angle and he was doing $1,500 - $2,000K/day profit.
Reason why I like this ad image and I think it is going to work? Well, first off this lady sticks out like a swore thumb on this image and her red dress really pops out. Also, I think everybody would find it extremely odd why this skinny white dude would even be with this obese women, not too mention the way he hugging her by grabbing her huge gut. I just think it's funny and intriguing.
Reason why I like the headline? The cheating/revenge angles look like they have been working on native and I feel this angle fits well with this image.
Targeting
So after running a bit of traffic on past offers with Rev and looking over my data the targeting that I feel works the best for diet are the following.

The categories that provide the most volume out of what you see in the screenshot are Diply, ViralNova, Social Trending - Below Article & Celebrity Gossip from my experience. The categories that have always produced positive ROI for me like 90% of the time on diet are Diply, Celebrity & Gossip & Health & Fitness.
When I setup my campaigns up, I separated all campaigns by device and country so that I could have better control of the bids and optimization.
I am bidding like a content marketer right now with low bids in the 3 - 6 cent range. I don't really like to bid to high starting out, I usually like to get a feel for the campaign and see where it's going before I start increasing my bids and scaling so my mobile and tablet bids are currently at 3 cents and my desktop bids are at 6 cents.
I am using Blackjacks cloaker to cloak using the redirect method and also using Voluum as well to redirect bad IPs/ISPs and block Sarasota since that is where Revs main office is located. Oh, withing the cloaker as well I am blocking US for my CA and UK campaigns and blocking CA and UK for my US campaign just in case they have reviewers based out in those countries as an extra safety precaution.
I def have high hopes for this campaign, but only time and data can tell so stay on the lookout for the progress of this campaign.
This looks to be a great follow along - I've also done a little with revcontent and content.ad a few months back so eager to read your updates - especially because of the cloaking you are doing - when I ran it was whitehat.
Good luck my friend and thanks for sharing.
Nice, Will follow this.
I have some experience here, pm if you want to mastermind! Good Luck!
Nice. I will definitely follow this as well.
Nice follow along, I have done good amount with native stuff (cloaking), excited to follow ur campaign.
Thanks
following this as well.
Great stuff! good luck.
Good idea to break the campaign up by device. I haven't used revcontent before but if you can break mobile further into android/iphone it could help.
V. interesting follow along.
Are you using the cloaker to get past content policies?
Have you found it better to direct link rather than use an intermediate 'advertorial' page?
Try more images, and more headlines
Hey Carlos... looks good... I will definitely be following along. I'm gonna start my own follow along for my Brazilian Diet campaign real soon... and thanks for sharing man I know you're gonna crush it.
I am going to follow along for the couple of days your campaign will last "cloaked" in Revcontent after posting here. Bad judgment dude.
Hey guys this campaign is mostly for desktop and I just realized that I posted in the mobile category so I apologize for that, but here is my update on my campaign so far.
Quick Note: I had to make an update my original post as well as I made the mistake of displaying my safe page and I really don't want to increase my risk of getting my account banned.
So when I first started the campaign on 9/16/15, here were my stats at EOD.

Here is a breakdown by country.
FYI: I expected the UK to not perform well as I have hardly had any good performance with diet trials, so I shut it down as soon as I saw this. Yes I could of kept it running, let conversions fall through and optimize from there, but for the sake of wanting to profit very fast and knowing that it hasn't performed well for me I decided to pause it.

So one thing I noticed was that desktop was profitable right off the bat and it had a solid ROI which was great. Mobile on the other hand was negative 40% ROI, but was converting which was good too. Normally I would of left mobile running and optimized on it, but my safe page actually went down the day I posted this and I was under the impression that my campaign was going to be paused due to the page redirecting to a 404 error page and I didn't own the page so I just decided to target desktop only for immediate profit.

I only ran 1 advertorial for desktop. Normally I would tested 4 advertorials at once, but I was pretty confident that this specific page was going to work well for me.

Here are the target categories and their stats

[UPDATE] 9/17/15 Stats
Here are the following stats for the following day, I really didn't do anything to the campaign yet. So all I really did today was up my bids 5-10 cents the profitable categories and exclude a widget placement.

[UPDATE] Over the weekend 9/19/15 - 9/20/15
Here are my over the weekend stats and as you can see performance wasn't too good.

That's all I have for you guys today, but I will make another post later this evening with an update on todays stats. I noticed rev just added a pretty high volume targeting (http://littlethings.com/) so I added that target in and am curious to see how it performs.
Things I would like feedback on
1. Do you have any ideas on how I can better optimize and most importantly scale this campaign?
2. Although my ad and lander is doing well should I split test another other ads and mix in other landers?
3. My desktop bids are in the range of 10 cents - 25 cents on one category. If you have had really solid success on Rev how high should I bid to maximize full traffic potential?
Any and all other feedback would be great too, thanks
i think you d focus on several niches(celeb\moms-babes\aged\etc) and strict countries+desktop
and give differend mental value based angles. create them a problem and solve it
for moms after pregnacy or with babies its important to look good, but they have no time.
for celebs it can be new secret trend of fit and sexy body
for aged it can be something what gives +5years to life and aslo like nonimportant think its fat loss pill
splittest and try
Hey Carlos any updates? This is an awesome follow along.
Loving the structure and detailed explanation of your thoughts and next steps. Keep us updated man, this Follow-Along is fire!
Thanks
I will follow this thread . looks really good till now
Hope you didn't give on this campaign.... I think it's a sign your banking it $$$ . Let us know
Hey, maybe someone can explain me how come his campaign works with that low bid. Revcontent min bid for US is $0.4? How he can make $0.1?
he would be doing RON, not targeting a specific country. I have been told that doing multiple countries you would get cheaper CPC. I havent tested it myself, so just putting on what I have heard.
