I'm pretty sure that this has been discussed on the forum already but I cant find it.
I'm trying to figure out how many impressions to give a target before deciding to cut it.
I know @vortex will probably chime in and share her extremely useful calculator spreadsheet. But I'm hoping to get some rules of thumb for those really bad performing placements.
I've been cutting placements that have 0 clicks after 100 impressions but is that too soon?
hangman,
Short answer:
Use vortex spreadsheet
Long Answer:
It's not about the impressions it's about the cost of impressions
Note: Don't care about the clicks, care about conversions. There is many placements with bad CTR but good CR
For example:
Your offer pays $1
If your CPM is 3 and you target to break even you can get around 770 impressions before butting your placement
If on the other hand your CPM is 11 you should cut after 220 impressions and no conversions.
It boils down to:
The cheaper impressions - the lower your CR can be compared to more expensive placements
