Good read, best of luck!

Not sure if it was an error but you didn't link to your landers correctly:

http://b.winaphoneforyou.info/html.index SHOULD BE http://b.winaphoneforyou.info/index.html

Make sure you're linking to it correctly in your tracking. It would suck for it to be a case of the traffic not seeing the lander because it wasn't linked to correctly.

09-06-2015 06:12 PM #3 jack_k (Member)

@dtalexone - phew nice spot, thankfully that was just a typo in the thread and not in the actual campaign. That would suck :'(
(Link fixed now - 06/09/15)

09-06-2015 06:34 PM #4 dtalexone (AMC Alumnus)

Haha, yes that would have!

So it looks like you actually got a conversion. It seems like it may be your tracking set up. I'm not too versed in tracking but I can offer some guidance.

Your test link doesn't look correctly set up. I don't use Voluum so I'm not exactly sure...

However, your postback doesn't look correct either.

Keep in mind that your tracker passes a unique id TO your affiliate network's platform. The postback URL passes data back FROM the affiliate network's platform TO the tracker. So let's take a look at this:

voluumtrk2.com/postback?cid=#leadid#

As one can see in the image of your tracker, there are tokens listed on the left that Voluum uses. In the url, where "#leadid#" is, that's for the affiliate network's platform to "FILL OUT." Therefore, Voluum's own token shouldn't be there, instead it should be the affiliate network's token. You have to figure out what is the token the affiliate network's platform uses for unique id and put that there. So let's say if it was {subid}, then your URL would look like:

voluumtrk2.com/postback?cid={subid}

Because this is what the affiliate network's platform is going to replace because it knows what to do with that token. #leadid# is for Voluum as it will know what to do with that token. And it is used in the offer URL when you're passing data from tracker to affiliate network.

I hope that makes sense. And if I am wrong, my apologies. I'd be more than happy to do it together and figure it out.

09-06-2015 07:17 PM #5 dtalexone (AMC Alumnus)

Ok my apologies for the confusion. I thought #leadid# was from Voluum.

In the offer URL, where are you passing the unique ID from Voluum to Oasis Ads? Is it in s1, s2, etc?

09-06-2015 08:00 PM #6 dtalexone (AMC Alumnus)

So the offer URL should go into Voluum. The landing page URLs, I believe, is what you put in the traffic source.

Landing Page URL -> Offer URL -> Postback URL

Offer URL is where you append the click id token to pass to the affiliate network. Your offer URL should be provided by the affiliate network.

This could all explain why you haven't seen any conversions.

09-06-2015 08:16 PM #7 jack_k (Member)

derrrp i had a brain fart, no the offer url is all good, {clickid} is in &s5, thats all good i think i just need to optimise everything, new landers, test more and optimise traffic source. Although i used the "click url" in Voluum which is says... :If your landing page has a single offer placement (within which you can have one offer, or rotate many), use the "Click URL". If your LP displays more than one offer, use the multi-offer click URL with the number at the end being the offer №. For example, if your landing page displays three offers, you'll need to add click links that end with /click/1, /click/2 and /click/3. You will then need to add/edit the LP in Voluum and set the "Number of offers" to 3."

This is my Click URL:http://xxxxx.voluumtrk.com/click. I put that into every single lander link to offer. I hope that is right i think my landers just suck so much XD they are very very poor and generic, it doesn't surprise me that i didn't get any
I believe it's right, but this is the first proper campaign i have ever done so it's very possible i messed up somewhere

09-06-2015 08:21 PM #8 dtalexone (AMC Alumnus)

Ok so if within the offer URL, {clickid} is being passed through s5... then I believe your postback URL should pass s5 BACK to the tracker.

So your postback URL would look like:

voluumtrk2.com/postback?cid=#s5#

See if that works.

Edit: You can also append the payout which would then look like this:

voluumtrk2.com/postback?cid=#s5#&payout=2.1 (or whatever the payout is)

Hey just a quick update on my next step for this follow along.

Ok so i have come up with some more interesting angles than what i had before - previous angles = 1. New apple store in your city! 2. You win.. (lol)
Anyway i have come up with a few angles which i think might work on my next lander test. I have decided to really niche down on some specific areas, i'm not sure whether this was the best idea since i imagine traffic could be low, please enlighten me
Possible angles so far are:

1 Social Approval - (Case Study) iPhones proven to be considered more likely to succeed in a business environment than any other phone considered by leading business advisors.
2. Sexual Companionship - Woman Find Men with iPhones more attractive! get one for free now! - picture with man with phone and hot woman(lots?) and nice car
3. Survival - Want a robust strong phone for hiking(any sport) with amazing signal incase your lost - Get the new iPhone 6 in the latest giveaway! Can be applied across multiple sports e.g. cycling, walking, jogging, horse riding, mountain biking etc.
4. Security - Like traveling, x amount of people die from poor sat nav directions! Do you want to keep your family safe while driving, get the iPhone 6 - upgraded sat nav voted best sat nag phone 2015.
5. further angles here...
i'm definitely running #1 although can't decide on angle #2, i feel that number 2 is used way too much and 3 and 4 seem a little too obscure. i'll update soon.
Further Updates - --/9/15

09-08-2015 11:36 PM #12 dtalexone (AMC Alumnus)

I think with affiliate marketing, we can't make assumptions as to what will and what will not work. You have to try them all if possible and just test. Let the data tell you what works and what doesn't.

I'm trying something similar to angle #2. It may seem overused but the need for sexual companionship will never go away, nor will the need for food.

09-09-2015 12:05 AM #13 jack_k (Member)

Yeah thanks man, i might do that actually, seems way better than just cutting out ones i personally think wont work then cut after data

Hey man, you have probably worked really hard on these lander but I am very skeptical about these actually working for you. BUT I COULD BE VERY WRONG as well. It seems like what most people are running is something that makes the user work for the prize (iphone 6).

09-13-2015 02:47 PM #16 dtalexone (AMC Alumnus)

I look forward to seeing what the data says!

09-13-2015 03:02 PM #17 jeterboy (Member)

Good luck man. Looking forward for awesome data.

09-14-2015 07:16 PM #18 dazed1 (Member)

Not much significance there yet Jack - run them for longer before making any decisions.

A back button redirect script is worth trying - you won't be able to go by CTR any longer but as I've said to you on Skype just go by CV as its a better overall metric.

I would also swap in one of the more standard landers you see when spying - just to give you a baseline too

Update 20/9/15

Ok so i have run some new landers, in a rush so can't go into to much detail but here are my results

Lander 1

Visits 1353
Clicks 458
Revenue $2.00
Cost $12.18
Profit $10.18
CTR 33.85%
CR 0.22%
CV 0.07%

I wish i could post a screenshot but im away and using one of those pay for minutes computer (Godam!) But All my other landers had around 0.80 - 1.9-% CTR although i will post the stats of the other that made a conversion.

Lander 2
Visits 1439
Clicks 14
Revenue $2.00
Cost $12.95
Profit $10.95
CTR 0.97%
CR 7.14%
CV 0.07%

Im going to carry through the successful factors of my best landers after some more testing.
Then cut some landers and test more with the landers which had the most succesful attributes and split test some more landers of similar look/scripts/effects(sound vibration) and move from there.

it's definitly looking more promising but still a long way away.

Good Luck all, Jack

09-21-2015 07:15 PM #20 ssmarketers (Member)

lander 1 has a crazy high CTR. Is that through the lander alone, or are there some backclick scripts that are fluffing your stats?

10-12-2015 08:55 AM #21 balint (Member)

you can't really track the cost properly, so the best is to update it manually (on campaigns tab, right click on camp.)

10-12-2015 10:03 AM #22 ajtothec (Member)

I'm pretty new to sweepstakes but these click prices sound incredibly high even for geos like AUS. Is that what you have to pay for decent traffic?

10-12-2015 11:08 AM #23 jack_k (Member)

@balint - ah nice! thats useful. Updated it now thanks man.'

@ajothec - No $0.06 is rather expensive, i think, and i'm only position 12 in bidding. On adcash the recommended price for CPM is $3.700 average. So can't think why popads is so pricey :/ but moving traffic source now so will run popads dry then move traffic sources.

I'm currently working with adcash and do not get much traffic with their recommended price. They don't give you many bidding information as it seems. How is your experience with them? Is bidding their recommendation enough to put you in a good spot on the bidding list?

@ajothec: Wish i knew good answer myself for this question, can't see the bid placement in Adcash but normally going over the recommended CPM bid cost is a good way i guess, i hear 1.5x recommended CPM for tier 3 GEO's and 2x for tier 1 - 2 GEO's. Will get back to you if i find a good way of telling, maybe only with managed? Would be helpful though.

Update: 18/10/15
So i have chosen a new offer to run: iPhone 6S pin submit (1 click flow) for Czech Republic - payout $3.50 so assume conversions might be a little tricky using whitehat techniques/landers (maybe)

Got some good news on the AU iPhone 6S sweepstake offer i have been running, not positive yet but on RON had a day with -22% ROI so looks promising, lacks scale and volume unfortunately so not sure about how much time will sink into scaling but will at least try to get profitable.

Daily Budget: $50.00 cant seem to reach that daily though on carrier?

17/10/15
Offer: iPhone 6S - AU
Payout: $2.25
Cost: $8.68 - Carrier traffic seems really slow, might increase average CPM to around $7-8 (Around $5.00 avg atm)
Revenue: $6.75
ROI: -22.22%
Profit: $-1.93

18/10/15
Offer: iPhone 6S - AU
Payout: $2.25
Cost: $6.46
Revenue: $2.25
ROI: -65.16
Profit: $ -4.21

Questions:
1. How can i raise my daily traffic amount? I have daily budget of $50 on Adcash although only spend max $8 -10, which is around 1,700 impressions for $8.00
2. Stats show different GEO other than AU on Lp's, how would i block ip's on Voluum or hide my landers from spying software.
3. My traffic source disallows auto play audio, anyway to get around this, is Double meta refresh the way to go here?

All the best!

Jack

Update 27/10/15
Good News!
Finally made a profitable campaign! However there is some issues...

Campaign Details
I have been testing some landers and cutting placements. I have found my best lander which works converts, now i'm trying to find one which will really stand out and make the $$$..
26/10/15
Cost: $4.38
Revenue : $4.50
ROI : 2.74%!

I think your already seeing the problem here...

My traffic is so tiny! I have a daily budget of $50 but it seems to spend around $3 - $9 with CPM of around $5 - $13.

Questions
1. How do i increase spend and increase traffic on Adcash, is there placement options which might be affecting my traffic?
2. What % ROI should i get before i scale?

Steps Moving Forward
- Test more landers
- Increase traffic
- Work on czech campaign with iPhone 6S 1 click pin submit

Jack

Australia is expensive...Will recommend you try other GEOs.

@mayor01234 - Thanks man, currently working on CZ offer for 1 click pin submit, hopefully that might be a bit better, will update tomorrow

10-30-2015 09:48 PM #29 jack_k (Member)

Update 30/10/15

So i'm still breaking even on the AU campaign with tiny traffic, i'm going to try and get some more traffic from popcash, and either zeropark or Propeller Ads, reason i'm hesitant about Propeller Ads is the $1000 deposit, don't want to have $1000 sitting around stuck in propeller ads, I'm finding pops is getting more expensive since it's the "go to" place atm. Was thinking about moving onto a Email CPM campaign? Anyone have any insight for me - not really sure how it works atm, do you need a specific offer for email traffic, or is any sweeps offer good to run on email traffic (Will do some research my self).

One last thing, if anyone knows how to check Adcash traffic inventory, let me know i am getting pretty much 0 traffic from my czech campaign, any ideas?

Thanks

- Jack

Jack,

Good to see that you've reached a profitable campaign.

Do you think you may be getting low volume because the placements that remain in your campaign are not high volume placements? I'm currently going through that issue of narrowing myself too much because the placements aren't high volume.

I think that may be your reason why.
