The Shackles Of Life - Fighting for Freedom + Thailand?
What's up people?
I have been doing mobile now for a while and I think it's funny how much I have learned since my very first lander in affiliate marketing alltogether and also how much I still don't know about affiliate marketing: it's crazy haha.
I'm planning to hit this mobile hard now with app installs and I'm planning to move in Thailand as soon as I get few things done here in Finland.
My current budget is from anywhere to 5k-10k depending how fast I can move in Thailand.
So without a further ado, lets see what I have done:
- Had my very first profitable campaign doing like +2 dollars a day but found it impossible to scale because I had whitelisted only good ROI targets with low volume
- I have learned using trackers better and learned few good javascript codes
- With my current campaign blacklisted 2 targets that have not generated any revenue with using more than 3x the offers payout
- Hitting f5 in tracker every five minutes
- Set up a caurmen's S3 + Cloudfront which have decreased the clickloss A LOT
The campaign "strategy" currently:
- Ripped one landing page with my own little twist
- Using a little bit over the average bid
- Using a offer recommended by my affiliate manager
- Bought enough data to make any decisions
What I'm planning to do:
- Ripping and creating new landers to test
- Making new angles after I've found a good performing landing page style?
- Buying more data with more landers and trying to find the best lander
My questions:
- Do you think my current lander CR is on the low side of spectrum or middle? What's your experience in alert sounds affecting CR?
- Should I ask for pay bump already because I think It would alone make the campaign green already or is it too early?
- How much usually in app installs do you get profit per one offer/geo and one traffic source before switching to next traffic source?
- Are there some poisonous little bastards luring in Thailand apartments or some furious tarantellas sneaking up to you in your house?
- I had plenty of other questions before I went to sleep but I can't remember them now
I have currently the same offer in another geo doing quite well with only direct linking and I'm planning to translate a lander for it too but I'll go with the 80/20 using 80% my time on this best offer that affiliate manager told me was performing the best and 20% to the other geo unless it shows huge potential straight away.
I also want to say big thanks to aaaart and sebastian_r as their follow-alongs have been recently the biggest impact on ME and you should definitely check out their follow-alongs. Also a big applause to Amy for helping me and many other in this forum. /endofofftopic
I'll see you at the Affiliate World Asia!

Its a very good start!
Can you ask your network/advertiser for a pay out bump so you can continue scaling up?

Yeah, that's what I'm wondering also. Do you think it's too early to ask for pay out bump / too little conversions? Or is it fine to ask already? I would like to hear opinions from everyone

Hey Diltsi,
nice FA. Good luck with AM and also with moving to Thailand. I also plan to go there for longer time, we can probably meet in a kapakaa.
I think your CTR is very good, but CV could be better. Yeah, I think asking for a bump is a great idea, you cannot really lose with that.
Cheers

Hey man, good decission with the Follow-along! You and other people will definitely learn a lot and you keep yourself more accountable to get your shit together!
Regardring your questions:
- Your CR seems low, but this is affected trough your really high CTR. You shold rather focus on CV, because this is the only real indicator for your profit. CV= leads/impressions - Work with this number and you can figure out how much you can bid to make or break a campaign. Regardring this is a lower payout offer, CV seems a bit too low. I would aim for 1%, but this is always dependant on your CPM.
- Its never bad to ask for bump, if they reject ask them how many impressions/day you have to bring and as soon as you hit that goal u can get it. Dont forget to split test the offer on diffeerent networks, you will be impressed how different the results can be!
- There is not really a rule of thumb. We have our go to trafficsource, which converts okay. If we see a potential int he campaign, we test it on other sources too. Some offers and geos might not work on trafficsource A, but crush it on trafficsource B.
- Didnt see a single Tarantula in 3 years. You might cross some exotic animals, but pretty rarely and rather outside of your house than in your apartment. Just get used to cokroaches

Good luck man, looking forward to your updates!

I asked for pay out bump but my affiliate manager said I'm already maxed out on all offers he has given to me. Do I have very good affiliate manager or is there any possibility of him lying to me? Is it how unusual for affiliate managers to give maxed out pay outs right from the beginning, I've only been about 2 months in this ad network. I'm a bit ashamed to be doubtful as my aff manager is really cool but this is my first time ever asking payout bump so I really wouldn't know what's usual and what's unusual.
Any ideas?

Good day guys, today has been pretty frustrating. Getting rejected campaigns from traffic sources and then waiting for e-mail reply is always a frustrating thing to happen. But I have now translated the offer for 3 more geos my affiliate manager said has performed the best. I've run the first offer almost the same and it's RON other than that I have blacklisted 4 bad performing targets. Also I'm trying to get into some managed traffic sources but haven't heard anything back from them yet.
I have tried to find different landers for the offer manually with HMA + Mobile phone going through different torrent and mp3 sites but haven't found a single lander that's using the same offer as I am. I think the lander is quite nice although it's always good to test new lander variations but currenty I think teting different angles is more important.
Today's stats:

Overall stats:

Strategy for tomorrow:
- Get the other geos approved
- Hopefully get a response from the managed sources so I can start testing different traffic sources
- Cut bad performing targets from the orginal offer
- Test new angles in the orginal offer and hopefully I hit some good angle
Questions
- Black listing vs Whitelisting? Whitelisting would put me probably in 10-15usd / day but the negative side is that it kills volume and blacklisting have very good volume, but it's time and money consuming to cut the bad targets
- When to cut targets that has had a conversion? Like for example a target has used 5x the payout but have made one conversion. Is there some -ROI% default that could be used?
- Does Propeller Ads have some basic skype account that I could contact or can someone somehow get me in contact with them?
